Never.  Regardless, sorry to hear about the incident - I take it you were a fan.

I was a fan of Pantera and recently got into Damage Plan as well.

To me, Pantera was and always will be Dimebag and Vinnie.

Yes....he is the only confirmed dead along with the shooter.

Another member of the band was killed too but it's not confimed whom.

I heard the singer at first but then I heard it was Vinnie Paul ( drummer / ex Pantera as well )

I take it this is all developing right now - any word on who it was and why?

Nope....the guy just ran on stage and started shooting.

I say there will be more about it in the morning.

This all just happened about 2 hours  ago.

That's beyond ****** up, I can't say that I'm a huge Damageplan fan, but this is absolutely awful.

Sorry, didn't see this thread when I posted mine. Please delete the thread I started as this one clearly existed first.

Vinnie Paul was shot, too, but he'll be OK. Darrell was cool as hell. I've partied over at his house in N. Arlington before (they are from the Dallas area; Darrell had a pool in the shape of a Crown Royal bottle with a hottub where the cap should be). He never acted like a "rockstar" and was always cool about helping younger bands get started. He would meet so many people that he called everybody "dude", even people he was close to, even his girlfriend.

RIP Darrell

What's really scary about this is my son follows this type of music and was involved in an ugly incident two weeks ago in Detroit.  He's not "street smart" and had no clue he shouldn't have went to this area (by himself) to see a few of the bands he likes.  We were lucky that everything turned out ok but I'm never comfortable with reading about this.  It's too bad for the band members but it's also just as sad about the innocent fans....
