Now that has got to be one of the coolest ideas they've had in a very long time.  What a tribute to the vintage line.  I love it!   :D

HOWEVER.... $70US?  How can they possibly justify that price?  :(

that display is made by a UK company, though I don't think that should really count towards the high price. it certainly looks like a cool piece and is very kenner-esque. i'd love to get this if it was a lot cheaper. the company is supposedly planning ESB and ROTJ themed displays for the future.

A strange little thing to surface...  Very pricey though, I agree.

Being a UK import, that may take into effect the high cost. Heres the site in the UK: Pride Displays

Still very pricey IMO.  :-\

It’s a nice idea, well executed and the packaging is great. When I first heard about it I was all gearing to order one, but then the realization that it costs about as much as an actual vintage misb toy made me hesitate, I’ll pass unless they start popping up on ebay for more reasonable prices.

I wanted to order these but the price is just sick. I'd rather go after the vintage ones.

I've been eyeing that thing (for unknown reasons) for about 3 months now.  Almost went in on one from the UK a while ago (pre-order), but decided to hold out for a better price, 'cause as has obviously been stated already, $70ish for that thing is insane.  Get it down to $30 or less, and I'll probably bite.

Cool vintage-esque look to it though.  Just a ****** price.   :-\

Yeah the news blurb I posted should clarify that it's just not been available in the U.S. yet unless you ordered direct from the UK on it.

I dunno what they run UK to US though...  I wonder if it's actually MORE?

Anyone got prices they can post?

$70's too rich for my blood too...  I don't do displays like that either though.

I found it interesting that SSW.com is "importing" this though.  Very strange...  I'm surprised Hasbro isn't throwing a **** fit on it.

Just did a quick conversion based on the rate right now, $30. GBP = $57.5891 USD.

This running around between the vinty thread & the OTC thread is driving me

I was thinking of merging both threads together but this is a vinty & modern subject so they can both stay where they are.  :)

I definately put this in the WTF category.

I too balked at the $69.99 tag (plus S&H you're closer to an $80 item. Sheesh.

I don;t get it, to me it's not all that great with what appears to be 2 types of stands smacked together, a simple cardboard back???? $80?????

Plus, if there are 6 you're looking at about $500 in display stands.  I've seen nicer homeade ones for around $30.

I'll be honest if there were like 20.00 I would have bought the ROTS and def. the ROTJ set.
