The Mustafar playset looks like a letdown, but I'm still getting it.

I wonder what we might see at Toy Fair that is new.... imagine if we get to see an AT-TE or Turbo Tank!

Or perhaps the 500th figure - Vader in Meditation Chamber?

And the ARC-170 is mysteriously missing from all the pics online all of a sudden. Did they pull it from the floor?

I just posted about 70 or so pics from today's Hasbro showing... they can be seen here. And don't forget to check back tomorrow when the rest of the show opens up.

My impressions so far:

Love the ARC-170, not so much the playset.

Agen Kolar apparently has a completely removable robe - custom robe Obi Wan and Mace on tap 4/2!   ;D

The battle arena things are a huge disappointment.

On the whole, it's looking pretty good.  Can't wait.

Yeah, the playset was a big disappointment IMO. It was just so.... lame. And small. If that's Hasbro's idea of a big playset, then they need to get some new measuring devices.

And in case anyone cares, I put some pics of the Press Kit that was given out today up on the main page.

One thing I forgot to mention that I though was a little odd was the 12" figure selection. They had the Anakin/Vader packaged/boxed sample, and then an Emperor Palpatine and a Clone Trooper of some sort, and that was it. No mention of Barriss or Luminaria, even though they have already snuck onto ebay.

Nice articles and pics, both Dave and Nick.  Sort of a let down from Hasbro, but only in the sense that so much had already been revealed beforehand.  No really grand surprises here.

That press kit is very nice though, I'd happily pick one up, but doubt it will happen.

dave, cool job on the pics from toy fair, there looked to be some neat things there. the majority of the figures look great, maybe you can confirm this. from the looks in your shots, the ROTS Vader, Chewie, and R2 all appear to be modified versions of the VOTC figures, is that true?

I thought the playset looked interesting, yes the scale is likely not proper, but one cant expect Hasbro to do it now if they haven't done so in the last decade. adding the two figures will help sell the item. the ARC-170 fighter looks wicked cool, but what's up with the long cannon on the right wing?

and what was the story with the Jedi Force toy that looked like a female X-Wing pilot riding a speeder bike?

cheers!

Yes, thanks Dave for the pics and reports.  I'm still waiting to hear about the AT-TE and what else Hasbro might have in store for us later in the year (more Padmes?)

jokabofe or nicklab, does the anakin skywalker #2 lightsaber attack fig come with a hand accesory that does not have a lightsaber permanently attached? it looks like the sabers in the pics are attached to his hand unlike the anakin included in the toy fair press kit. and i also assume the darth vader #11 obviously has a removable lightsaber. thanks.

I'm not sure where I saw the picture, but Anakin #2 comes with:

1) Right hand
2) Unlit lightsaber hilt
3) Right hand with blue lightsaber sculpted in
4) Right hand with red lightsaber sculpted in

I couldn't find the picture where I saw this first, but here is a link to the RS picture of the figure from Toy Fair: http://toyfair.rebelscum.com/2005/hasbro/IMG_6704.JPG

In general, many of the figures who wield lightsabers come with multiple hands.  One hand may have a lightsaber molded in, the other may not.  It's something of a new trend for this year.
