I'd remove the 5 points for the loss since it's basically the only negative category in terms of scoring that you have.  There isn't a negative for hitters (like striking out.)  Just a suggestion.

There's actually also -1 for a BB and -1 for an ER from pitchers too.  And does this mean you're in?

Hadn't seen that on your list.  I'm cool w/ that system then.  I just signed up as "Average Joes."

Here's the scoring system and roster positions for the league as it stands right now.  (This can be changed up to March 1st when the draft commences)

Single = 1 point
Double = 2 points
Triple = 3 points
Homer = 4 points
RBI = 1 point
Stolen Base = 1 point

Win = 7 points
Loss = -5 points
Walk = -1 point
Earned Run = -1 point
K = 1 point
Shutout (9 innings, zero ER) = 5 points

1B
2B
3B
SS
C
Utility (any hitter)
OF
OF
OF

SP
SP
SP
SP
SP
RP
RP

5 bench spots any position.

The owner who accumulates the most points at the end of the season wins.

Hopefully we can start the draft on March 1st, posting pick by pick in this thread.  The draft order will be chosen by writing each owner's name on a piece of paper and drawn from a hat, and the draft order will be posted here Sunday February 27th, 2 days before the draft commences.

Need to hear from:
Nataku

Sorry, but I think I will have to take a pass this year.  I love Fantasy Baseball, but I've got a lot of stuff going on right now so I won't have a lot of time for the draft.   :(

If it comes down to it and you need one more team, I may be able to swing but for now I'm a "no".

I'm in, not sure if we should count walks...thats a lot of extra points for batters.  I seem to recall our pitching to hitting points being a little out of sorts as well...upping the win points is a good plan.  Maybe getting more for K's or a point for IP or something is another way to do it

Yeah, you got it, I nixed the walks.  Though I can't imagine what that would have done to Barry Bonds' value.  I figured by upping the wins from 5 to 7 and taking the walks out it makes pitching and offense more even.

I'll probably pass on Fantasy Baseball this year. Like Jeff, I've just got too much going on.

I'm totally in for Fantasy Football in the fall, though.

Chuckles has provided some insurance, he will join February 26th should we have less than 8 teams.

I will join the quest to defeat other people's fantasy teams.  I am like the Bad News Bears of Fantasy sports in that I suck. But it's still fun!

Still waiting to hear from Reconsgt and Rebeltrader.  Rebeltrader said "maybe" and will decide in the next day or two.  If he's not the 8th team in, then Chuckles will be.  Either way, with a minimum of 8 teams, we'll have more teams than last year which is good.

 :D

Get ready to draft.

Hey... I drafted right in the middle in football, and 2nd from last in Basketball, and here I am drafting 2nd from last again...

Who do I have to kill to get a top half of the order pick?
