Finally, my first day of having my whole team put together a strong outting. And could have been more, had I realized Delgado had been out hurt the past several days and stuck someone else in there instead.

Ah yes, I think I had offered Giles up in a trade that was never rejected or accepted.  Makes sense and I'm not sure why I didn't think of that before.

In any event, thanks for looking at it.

Yep, that was my fault. I didn't make a decision on that deal for the longest time, mostly due to moving last week and not really having much time to think about it and having very limited time online for several days. Sorry about that.

It's no problem.

What is a problem, is that my team hasn't had but one or two decent nights in weeks.  Looks like they're finally packing it in.  Particularly Melvin Mora, who's done jack **** since coming back from his injury around the All Star Break.

Abreu blew everything he had at the allstar game.  He's been on my bench almost continuously since.

How's this one for fantasy baseball line of the night?  John Patterson's shutout gem:

*                                 IP  H R ER BB K  HR Season ERA  Fantasy Points
J. Patterson (W, 5-3) 9.0 4  0  0   0 13  0    2.42                    25

I just saw that before I came over to this thread.

One guy turning an average night into a big night.  That's gotta be the most points anyone has scored in one night so far.

A high strikeout, shutout, win is priceless.

Even a guy who hits 4 solo HRs in one night contributes less than Patterson did tonight.

Jake Peavy hurling the 5 hit, 10 K shutout today over the Nationals!

My hitting quieted down a bit this week but John Patterson and Jake Peavy really lifted the team with 25 and 20 point pitching performances respectively.

Time to pay homage with a small shrine:

Oh, and Minnesota Muskies?  Pffft.  More like the "Minnesota Musties."  Old and stale...and buried.

Maybe you should try to trade him for David Ortiz, I hear he's pretty nifty with the bat.

Since we started the football draft - I've all but forgotten about the baseball team...  Is it a coincidence that they're all slumping at the same time?   :o

I set my lineup last in the end of April and haven't checked back in...how are the standings shaping up?

Bah, it was okay at the time.  It could have gone either way, Helton was hot as hell and Rolen had come back.  Then they both went down.  I was hesitant to pull the trigger on that one, but it paid off pretty much.  Even so, 2 of the 3 players I got stayed on my bench mostly.

But to call it a "horrible trade" is not accurate.
