JediDefender Server Downtime Elimination
« on: March 24, 2003, 06:08 PM »
We would like to apologize to all of our readers for the recent site downtime. We are having hardware problems on our server and our current datacenter is not performing up to our standards. We will be getting a brand new server with Pentium 4 processor tommorrow as well as a new datacenter. All of this will occur within the next 24 hours and these problems will stop once and for all. Again, we apologize for the inconvienience and know that it is being taken care of. Thank you for your continued support!

We are still working on our server upgrade here at JediDefender, but are continuing to encounter some minor technical difficulties in it's implementation along the way.  As a result, there may be some further potential downtime or glitches with our site over the next couple of days, however erratic.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but hope that these necessary changes, however inconvenient, will make for a much better site in the long run, and an even smoother and more enjoyable forum surfing experience here!  We greatly appreciate your patience and support in this matter, and look forward to being finished with the upgrade very soon so we can all get back to doing the things that we so greatly enjoy here at JD!

Sincerely,
Team JediDefender

We are happy to be able to announce that the new server has been installed and JediDefender.com is now running on our brand new machines. The recent down time has been eliminated, along with the slow loading of pages from time to time. This was in no way the fault of us at JediDefender, but the data center and server we were on had problems that were internal and could only be dealt with by someone working on the machines "locally".

It may take up to 24 hours for our IP address to route to our domain name, thus some readers/users may not be able to log on the site site while others can. Along with this, some aspects of the site may look strange but as I said, everything will be back to normal within 24 hours. I want to personally thank you for your patience with us during this most frustrating time, our readers are the best!

I would like to thank everyone for their great patience when we were encountering our webserver problems earlier this week. We now are on a new machine as well as new data center. All site functions are once again at 100% and we are very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Please visit our thread in Watto's Junk Yard concerning load times and let us know how everything is going, any other feedback is greatly appreciated. JediDefender will continue to bring you the Star Wars toy coverage that you expect, thank you!
