Stay at Home Dads?
« on: February 27, 2005, 10:44 PM »
Hey.  I'm going to keep this short and sweet.  Any Stay at Home Dads out there?

Our first baby, Declan, was born on Oct 1, and wifey went back to work in Jan.  I'm still employed, but I sta with the baby during the day, and work at home from about 6:30 to midnight.

It would be great to chat with another Star Wars obsessed dad!

I'll raise my hand!  I spend most of my time looking after our daughter, but I still work part-time: 24 hours a week.  My wife works an insane # of hours, probably 70 hours a week, so it's nice that I can be at home for our daughter much of the time.

I did it for about 3 months and then needed to get work , cause the wife had to take a pay cut
But i gotta tell ya , it's one of the most fun, rewarding and infuriating things a person can ever do ::)
The problem with America is stupidity I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself

I would love to be a stay at home Dad.  But unfortunately, I have these two problems:

1)  My wife doesn't make enough for me to not work (or just work part time at home)

2)  We don't have kids (and never will)

So, can I maybe somehow just be a stay at home... husband?  Yeah, I didn't think so.  Bummer.   :-\

I work second shift.  My wife works first shift.  So I watch our daughter during the day, and she at night.  It works really well, though it'd be nicer if we got to see each other a bit more often.
