Young Solo was requested by George Lucas for shooting in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. McCaig's costume design was approved by Lucas on the spot. Unlike the Han Solo we know in the Original Trilogy, the Episode III Solo was conceived as a 'slob' by McCaig.

So what was Han Solo's role?

In a conference room on Kashyyyk, Han Solo helped Yoda track down General Greivous. We were told in the script that Han was being raised by Chewbacca."

Wow!  If that was actually true.

In the MF forums more than a couple people said this report was BS and that Han was never in the script.  I hope not as well, it just seems forced.  I can remember talk of this back during Episode I that we could see a young Solo in one of the Prequels.  I'm not sure why, sort of like why I'm not sure why (other than $$$$$$$$$$) why they included Boba Fett in this whole thing

I agree that it does sound like B.S.  But that would have been crazy if true.  Han helping Yoda track down GG? I could just see them having an 8 year-old with some dirt on his face to make him look like a slob.  LOL!

I agree completely Scott.

I don't like cameos for the sake of sticking someone in there...  Tarkin is a stretch as it is to me, but I'm already hating that Chewbacca is in here, and I think the droids are over-used at times too.  Especially 3PO.

Capt. Antilles is another thing that seems forced too...  I dunno.  And Jabba's appearances...  Sometimes there's too many ties to the old trilogies.  It's a big galaxy so I like to think coincidental run-ins wouldn't be this frequent.

I'm glad Solo isn't in it.  Raised by Chewbacca?  What a load of hooey.  Pure crap.  The way they interact in the OT they're buddies and at times I get the feeling that Han treats Chewie something like a pet.  Nothing like a dad/father figure

Yoda "Agitated am I, that understand Wookie babbling and howls I can not.   What to do?  How to react? Difficult to see." 

Boy Solo "Gosh Mr Yoda sir.  I speak Wookie talk real good.  Can I  help you?" 

Yoda "Surprised am I to see a human youngling here amongst all the furry Wookies.   An interpreter for me I'd like." 

Solo (with big goofy kid grin) "I know I am just an 8 year human boy, but I know how to track down that bad cyborg robot thingy.  Chewy showed me how to use all the elaborate computers here on Kashyyyk last week.  Wanna see?" 

Yoda "Strong I am with the Force.  Understand this Kashyyyk computer system I can not."   

Solo "Ok then.  (Han fiddles and types on a computer console)  See Yoda sir!?  General G is right there!!!" 

Yoda "Shown up by a scruffy 8 year old child reared by Wookies....How embarrassing." 

Solo (smiles) "Ha-ha!!" 

Yoda "Mmmmmmm.  Surprising in the ways the Force works.  The wookie, stay with him, you must." 

Solo "Ok.  Bye!"   

Yoda (gazes fondly as the boy leaves the room)
