Since the Prequels pretty much have shut me out of OT figures, I will probably pick up a Tarkin, Bail Organa, Captain Antilles and possibly some Alien Senators.

The Mon Calamari would make a good Mon Remonda Crewman....

I'm at best a neophyte to customizing (I am the proverbial NOOB who can't even manage a boil and pop head swap).  BUt I have decided with a lack of stuff out to spend money on, I'd start up customizing and ACUTUALLY FINISH  a custom.  I will post it here...maybe even do the whole WIP thing....my first lofty goal is to take a Micro-man and cover him with parts of Saga Snowtrooper but I have to baby step my way there....

I'm gonna be all over Jedi customs with the excellent Kit Fisto body that's part of this new collection. Plus, Zett Jukassa is going to make for some great younger Padawans.

Aside from that, I'm looking forward to the Royal Guards, as some parts from them will be used for some KOTOR style Mandalorians I've wanted to do for a while, and pieces of the Neimoidian Warrior and Mustafar sentry will be good for various fringer, scum and villainy types.

Oh yeah--first post! Thanks for telling me about this place, CHEWIE!

Darth Delicous - I am so glad you are here!!!  Welcome my friend.   :)

You are one of the coolest cats around.  It sounds like you have some great ideas for customs with the ROTS figures!

I'd like to get more of the RS gang over here...it kills me when I pop on the site and there aren't a ton of updates for me to peruse!  ;)

Well, I hit about ten stores starting at midnight last night and going until about ten this morning. (With a break between two and seven to watch Clone Wars with my partner in crime Ryan.) I picked up multiples of all the Jedi for customs, a few red guards and a few blue, and ten clones. I wasn't going to get that many clones right off because I like to make sure most fans get a shot at them, but there were so many falling off the racks around here, I didn't even make a dent.

Oddly enough, I only found one clone pilot and no clone commanders. Crap-cakes!

I passed (for now) on the Grievious variations, the ships, and the beast packs. Gotta draw the line somewhere, and I know these will be abundantly clearanced come summer.

I also picked up the carrying case at Wal-Mart, and despite my reservations, the Early Bird kit and the Lava Vader from Target.  I got most of my stuff at TRU though, because they had the prices low enough to compete, and if they're going to bring it close, then I'd rather they have my money than the unholy juggernaut that is Wal-Mart.

In any case, I'm dying to customize some ranked clones and a few Jedi, but I may have to wait until later this week. I've got a lot of work due on Monday I've thus far neglected to further cement my place in this world as George Lucas' b*tch.   ;D

   How about you guys?

Oh man let's see....

Clone Commander, if found, can be painted yellow.....and will be.

Tarrful with Preview Wookie parts could be infinitely superior over his current state.

Aayla Secura has smuggler potential.

Like Kevin said...Those guards will make great Mandalorians.

Agen Kolar is a potential Old Ben Kenobi, but the robe makes the purchase worth it.

Each Jedi has its own potential in terms of no name characters, or even a few EU characters.

Bail Organa looks like an easy generic Tantive IV crewmember with a bit of manipulation.

Each Chancellor Palpatine can easily be made a senator of any species I should think.

Until I get the chance to inspect these figures in more detail, that's all I can think of. :)

All right...I finished a script, and as a reward to myself, started my new Kir Kanos figure.

I'll post a pic as soon as it's finished. Probably tonight. Hasbro made this the easiest custom in the world...

Eeth Koth and Obi-Wan Rd leader - tons of Jedi potential
Clone Commander- I'm painting a yellow one tonight, I found 3 at MM ;D
Clone Pilot - good figure but I thought it would have removable helmet, oh well I fix taht up myself sometime :)
Clones- If they don't make colored ones, I will :)
Grievous's Guards-  I'll probably make a blue version sometime
#12 Palpy - Stick a SAGA head on there and you've got a sweet ROTJ Palpy
Aayla - various female figures
Ki-Adi Mundi - Various Jedi as well
Royal Guards- Tons of things, Madalorians, Smugglers, other guards like Kir Kanos of course, and who know what else

This line has so much potentila it is unbelievable :)

Yeah, I'm going to go broke just on the custom fodder from this line!

I agree with all the possibilities you pointed out, SLC. Plus I think I'm going to incorporate parts of the Grievous bodyguards into HK-47 from KOTOR I and II. I've been wanting to finish that one for a while now.

Kevin

Here's a detailed drawing of him...

[image][image]

And here's how he actually ends up looking in the game...

[image][image]

And just for fun, here's the original conceptual drawing of him.

[image][image]

I'm looking to make the game version of him. Some of the parts I'm working with are a Grievous bodyguard, the new GI Joe Overkill figure, and a saga Death Star droid.

Actually, this might be a fun group project...I can post my progress, and suggestions can be made by you guys...kind of how Master Phruby does from time to time.

I do like the concept shot better than the used version. Still a really cool droid though. Good luck. I assume your using Greivous guards legs?

Since I was going to attempt the game version first, I was going to use some regular protocol droid legs and maybe attempt to articulate the knees.

Here's what I'm thinking so far:

Head: Overkill + epoxy and my mediocre sculpting talents.  ;)

Chest: Grievous' guard.

Arms: Grievous' guard + some glued on parts.

Crotch: Overkill.

Legs: 4-LOM.

Let the cannibalizing begin!  ;D

Just completed my first ROTS custom figure - and I think I did a good job.

It's Obi Wan w/ robes... will get pics up soon.
