It's Groundhog Day!  :D

Groundhogs Willie and Billy predict early spring; Sam and Phil disagree.

Canadian Press: Wednesday, February 02, 2005.

CP) - There was mixed news for winter-weary Canadians desperate enough to count on a handful of bewildered rodents to predict how much longer winter will drag on.

Cheery predictions by Ontario's Wiarton Willie and Alberta's Balzac Billy, who emerged before chanting, pancake-eating crowds and didn't see their shadows - a sign of early spring - were offset by two other furry forecasters suggesting a long winter.

Nova Scotia's Shubenacadie Sam, a woodchuck that lives in a heated den where's he pampered with carrots and broccoli, waddled out of his cosy nursery Wednesday and saw his shadow, suggesting another six weeks of wintry weather.

Pennsylvania's Punxutawney Phil saw his shadow on Gobbler's Knob after being pulled from his burrow in an oak stump by a top-hatted handler.

Right now it's 8 °C and melting like crazy. Looking good then it turns to ****!  >:(

Today Cloudy with sunny periods. Wind west 20 km/h. High 9.
Tonight Cloudy. Low 1.
Thursday Cloudy with sunny periods. 40 percent chance of showers late in the day. Wind west 30 km/h. High 8.
Friday Periods of snow. Low minus 9. High minus 6.
Saturday Periods of snow. Low minus 13. High minus 11.
Sunday Cloudy. 60 percent chance of flurries. Low minus 22. High minus 18.

We had some pretty darn nice weather last week.  Hit all of 39 F here and was above 32 F for a couple of days.  Melted some of the harder crap on the roads, so that was great.  Did little (surprisingly) to the overall volume of snow though.

Now we're back where we "belong" ::) :'(

-25 C, with windchill -36 :-\

The forecast looks pretty good in the long range, but the long range forecast 5 days ago had today at -10 C.  Missed by just a little methinks ::)

Well I'm kinda sunburned, and people all around town are dying from heat exhaustion, so things aren't very nice here.  :P

(Hopefully everyone knows how to convert 331 Kelvin to Degrees C)

Well, after enjoying temps in the 50s last week, we dropped down again and got our second (although smaller) snowstorm this weekend.  Only about 5-6" on the ground so far, possibly more coming tomorrow.  Its been a fairly tame winter so far for the most part though.

The roads here are a real mess, and it's supposed to get worse as the day progresses.
