It's actually been really nice here, last Sunday we did do some grilling, most of the snow was gone even as of yesterday, such is March in MN though, we usually get big storms but the stuff is gone a few days later.  Its nice too because we were really, really dry late in the summer and fall, hopefully we stay wet for a while

Hmmph.  You think you need an ARK?  You should see it here.  Not going to need to add any water to the pool come spring.

Forecast for next two days is really nice.  +6 today and +8 tomorrow.  But....  Wednesday's high is a balmy -15 C?  What the heck is up with that :o  In one day we go from about 46 F down to about 6 F???  Enough already. ::)

Yup, wind too.  We've had quite a bit of that making the roads a bitch.  Been close to zero and with the high winds the snow just drifts across the highway and sticks, instant skating rink >:(

Five people have died on highways in the last week and change due to icy roads :'(

What a strange day.

I don't remember hearing we were gonna get snow, but we got a bit of Freezing rain, then lunchtime snow and chaos ensued.

There were more than 100+ accidents, over 50+ cars in the ditch, and pretty major accidents all the Twin Cities including a major 20+ car pile up in I-94 in St. Paul:

Crazy.  People don't usually crack-up som much here in MN.  Especially since we got like 8" just on last Friday.

Did you make it through lunch-time, Scott?

Holy Crap...pileups here are pretty rare since people generally know how to drive in the snow, three big ones in a short time must have been like glycerin on the roads

We went to Wendy's over by VH Target and Wal Mart, didn't seem too bad at all

You got that right Amigo :o

Wednesday the temperature dropped from 3 C in the morning to -24 C in the afternoon :o with a wind chill of -36 C :'(  It's not horrible right now, -12 C, wind chill -20 C but the forecast bites.

Today and tomorrow we are expecting basically a foot of snow.  Winds around 40 mph and temperatures around what we have now.

Bloody hell, it's enough already :'(

When does spring spring up there?

Usually late March, early April for us in Edmonton. A few yrs ago, we had spring come very early, sometime in February.  8)

Though I have seen freak snow storms in July!  :o

You never really know.  I remember being in university back in the mid-80s and skipping Cell Biology class to go sit on the grass.  It was about 75 F on March 20th, all the snow was gone and the grass was green.  Around those same years I would always have my motorcycle on the road around the first of April.

Then it gets cold some years and snow stays on the ground a real long time.  I think it was 1997 when we set a local record for days with snow on the ground, some hideously long time.  October until May or something disgusting. But again, for contrast, back in 2000 or 2001 the golf courses opened in early March.

This is looking like one of those long winters.  Lots of snow yet with another foot to come :'(
