Well, the cold finally cost us some money. 

Seems the door on the Pathfinder was left ajar in the garage and drained the battery, no surprise in this cold.  Had to push the damn thing out of the garage and let me tell you, it is no small feat to push one of those things by yourself .  Got it outside, boosted it, got it going.  Plugged it in and then left it outside the garage, just in case. 

Stupid.

Turns out the block heater is busted/disconnected, not working.  Well, the depressed state of the battery (we started it four or five times  and let it run to recharge the battery) was enough combined with the cold and no block heater.  The battery is dead, toasted, finito.  Had a charger on it and nada.  So, go pick up a new battery, it doesn't fit.  Seems the previous owner had customs cables put on and you need offset posts to fit the damn thing.  Stores of course closed, so tomorrow I have to take this battery back and get a different one.

Freezing rain - not cool Dale.  (er, pardon the pun).  They're calling for that here on Thursday.  Talk about one extreme to the other - Going from -50^oC with the windchill to above zero in 5 days?  Is -10 so much to ask for?  (Actually, I know it is, but I guy can dream...)

Yeah, freezing rain is not cool. The back roads still have snow on them coated with ice, when it warms up...slush. Then when it rains...    Not looking forward to it one bit. 

She's starting to warm up already... -8°C. Wish I could send you this nice temp.
