I want to go just because it's the last SW movie and all that.  Hopefully this time I can snag and exclusive figure if they have one.  I hope that is managed much better in 05.   I am only 3 hours from it.  So, I'd assume I'll go.  However, something might be going on then of course.

I'd probably have to fly.  I'm 8 hours from Scott by car, so that's a bloody long drive.  Guess I could fly to Minneapolis then drive.

I'd like to go, but not sure how supportive the wife would be.  She's tolerant, but I expect this would cost me a grand, so I'm not sure if she's that tolerant.  And I don't blame her, lots could be done with that much money.  Indy's probably better for me than some other places though.

Even worse, I'll be down in West Lafayette about a month or so before, so twice in a month?

I'm actually bummed that it's in Indy again, but that won't stop me from going this time too.

It's the last big hurrah for Star Wars, so I don't see how I can miss it. I hope everyone from these boards (that goes for RS as well) will start making plans now so I can meet some of you folks there.

I spoke with one fo the actors who will be signing at C3, and he told me that Indy was definitely a strong possiblity.  He also mentioned Las Vegas was in the running, too.

Both cities are pretty good.  Indy was definitely very clean, friendly and hosipitable.  It could certainly stand to be a litte better organized in some respects.  Las Vegas is good in these respects:  it's got a tremendous number of hotels available for accomodations, and plenty to do during off hours.  Las Vegas also has the largest convention center in North America.  You need either a bicycle or a Segway to get around the place.

My plans fell through last time, so hopefully a buddy and myself can do a nonstop from Mass to the Celebration this time around.  I told myself that I would not miss it this last time. If anyone else in Mass is interested LMK.    It would work out great renting a decent size vehicle where  4  of us could rotate on the driving.

I'll vouch for that.  I was down there for a convention in 1998.  Had the meeting itinerary all mapped out and timed.  Until I arrived and realized that certain presentations were 2 minutes apart in time, but a 20 minute walk between rooms :o

Though it may be anathema to some, the hotel attached (Las Vegas Hilton) has Star Trek: The Experience as an attraction.  It was wickedly cool when I went back in '98 and probably nothing could do more to get me to Celebration than to have it near there.  I'd love to go on that ride now and go back actually having money to buy some souvenirs.

2005's a ways off, so my plans for going will come down to the issues in my life at that stage.  We'll see...  I haven't made either, so C3 would be a nice jaunt off, likely with the Pittsburgh gang.

Vegas isn't in the running anymore. Indy has had it locked for sure for over a month now, and if you call the hotels...some of them already know about it.

I was really bummed when I heard about it, because I was hoping for Vegas or some place fun in the hours outside the convention, but oh well.

It's still going to be a great time.

I'll be there, wherever it is.  Indy was cool last year, though I was selfishly hoping for it to be moved out west to either San Diego (Comic Con), Anaheim (Disneyland), or Las Vegas...  Oh well.  Indy again it is!

I assume they'll have learned a few things from last time, so hopefully the few questionable areas get ironed out to make it more comfortable and mentally relaxing than last time.  It was still a great time though!

I'm just very excited about the prospect of finally meeting a lot of good online buddies there this time, since I didn't know anyone last time since I had just joined the forums around then.  Regardless of whether there'll be much nightlife around town after hours, I'm sure many of us will be up for spending long hours at people's hotel rooms or lounge areas just shootin' the **** with eachother 'til the waning hours of the morning...

The only question is whether I should bring along the Mrs. again.  I'm thinking not this time, but we'll see what she has to say about that...

We'll start working on some more collaborative plans for the whole JD gang soon, I'm sure!   8)

I believe the odds of it being in Vegas are pretty slim.  I used to work for a chain of hardware stores, and I remember when Ace Hardware decided to have their national conference there.  All these old 'mom-n-pop' franchise owners went, but these aren't the gambling types.  They're too damn thrifty, and Vegas pretty much filled up their hotels with nothing much to show for it.  Vegas actually told Ace Hardware that they weren't welcome back.

Now if I were on 'my' personal budget, with a list of autographs and collectables on my want-list surpassing the funds at my disposal, I wouldn't step foot in a casino.  If Vegas were to realize this was the status-quo's intentions, I don't think they'd welcome the geek fleet with open arms.

I have to bring the Mister so she'll have someone to talk to about everything else BUT Star Wars. ;)  Besides, then you get two of everything ;D.

Yes, I'm bringing Mrs. Katheryn along.  She's a sci-fi watcher, but not what you'd call a Star Wars fan.  She asked me if there would be any 'Buffy' actors at this convention, and I told her it would be all Star Wars.  She'll be a bit lost, but she's eager to join in.  She even asked me if we'll be standing in autograph lines together, or if I want to split up to cover more actors.  She's definitely in the spirit of things.

If ones available, I'll probably just go for the ultimate autograph kit again. It made everything a lot easier not having to spend half my time there in line for autos...
