Of course, there's a whole 'nother problem no one has attempted to address: figuring out where Darth Tater fits in the Sith succession. Was he Sidious' first, failed apprentice before Maul? Or does he date from an earlier era -- was he Darth Bane's apprentice?

Personally I suspect he was Plagueis's Master.

I'll probably end up getting one eventually (for my kids).

Nice try, we know who it's really for.   ;)

I bought one of these for my nephew when they came out and the other day he used the Dath Tater face mask as a mask for him, grabbed his red toy lightsaber and told his dad (my brother) that he was Darth Vader.

I've converted another to this hobby!   ;D
This is the way.

I have spoken.

I got one of these (Darth Tater) from my wife for my birthday, and it really is a neat little "odd ball" type of Star Wars collectible.  I like it.  I hope to pick up the Spudtrooper when it is released as well.  These things have really been selling quite well around here, disappearing pretty quickly.  I'll be curious to see how this latest batch does, I stopped at Wal-Mart yesterday and they literally had about 50 of these laying on the shelves.  Must have just put them out, because they weren't there this past weekend.  Lots of Taters laying about, I wonder if they'll sell.

^ I've only seen a Darth Tater once, and there was only one of him. These seem to be very popular.

will there be any more of these types of star wars p heads in the works?  after the SD Conv and no pictures, I doubt it.  it's a shame to because I thought of one that would've been cool.  His name Darth Spudious.  maybe his cloak could have been made to look like black aluminum foil.  just a thought.

Heheh, great idea.

At one point I saw a pic of what appeared to be Ree-Yees, but that might have been just a generic alien spud for some other line.

Has the Spudly one been spotted yet?  Where?  I expect he'll show up at TRU since they've had lots of the Darth Taters.

I was kind of wondering about the Spudtrooper as well.  I have the product page (at SWShop) bookmarked, just to see if/when it came in stock and I might think about ordering one.  The listing has been gone for a bit now, just saying "this product is currently unavailable" on the page now.

Looks like the Spudtrooper is now IN-STOCK at Amazon.com.

Looks like a similar price to DarthTater - $8.99 plus tax/shipping.

Good luck to anyone trying to nab a Spud!

Just an FYI, but there is free shipping on Amazon right now so I pulled the trigger on Spud Trooper... he shipped today and should arrive next week and will most likely look great posed with Darth Tater!   :)

Thankfully, Darth Tater showed up north of the border in abundance at TRU, so I'm trying to be patient and wait for him.  Like you said, seeing Spudtrooper and Darth Tater displayed together should be a hoot!

Sweet!

My daughter asked for a Darth Tater last week, and there was pretty much no way I could say no.  It has quickly become one of her favourite toys (after the Barbies, of course).   ;D

Yeah, I originally wasn't going to pick these up, but since they only run $7-9 I thought what the heck.  They will be fun to have these around as star wars toys that the nephews are actually allowed to play with!   ;)
