Darth Tater Head

Pretty cool looking. Might be a neat "novelty" item to have.

That's kind of what I was thinking too Mikey, might be something fun to pick up just to have a different type of piece in the collection.

I've got a bad feeling about this... like Scott said in a different thread, this is a bad sign of things to come.  I can only imagine that ANYTHING Hasbro can stick the SW label on they will.

Ugh.

As for Tater, well... I guess it's OK if you a Mr. Potato Head fan.  Since I'm not, well... I pass on this one.  :-\

I agree with that too Jeff, and what Scott mentioned earlier....as much as I like Star Wars, I really don't like it plastered every single place it can possibly be.  Promotion is fine, but when it gets oversaturated it seems to take something away from the franchise in a way.  I like it a little bit simpler I guess.  But then again, I kind of liked the "different" products in the vintage days (BK Glasses, dixie cups, things like that), maybe it just wasn't as bad :).  I hope we don't see an overhype on the levels of Episode I again though.

I don't see how they could possibly reach the saturation levels they reached with Episode I  ;).  I agree, I hope we don't see some of the crap we saw back then.  However, I think this Darth Tater is a great product, very unique.  I plan on getting 2 - 1 for me, 1 for my daughter - I think the display value for me and the play value for her will be great.

Wow, Darth Tater just made the front page of CNN.com  Oddly enough, they're reporting about it in their "Technology" section.  Huh?

Here's the direct link to the story, for when some more noteworthy news bumps it off the front page...

$8 doesn't seem too much for you to plunk down on 10 of these puppies Colman

Bite me.  I'll likely wait 'til I see it on clearance for $5 or less, and then nab one...   :-*

I picked up two of these on Saturday.  One for my collection, the other for my nephew.

I also got him a bunch of the Playskool stuff when they first came out (including the Falcon) and he loves playing with them.
This is the way.

I have spoken.

Yikes, more taters.  Might be neat for some, but its also taking an idea that is kitschy with one release, and overdoing it now if it continues.  That said, how many of you ended up picking up the Darth Tater?  I didn't...but have considered it....but I'm spending enough money right now that I have put it off.  I tell you, I did see a lot of them selling on April 2 though.
