While not a big fan, you have to admit "Addicted to Love" is, well, an addicting tune.

I wasn't a big fan of him, but he was a good artist I suppose.  RIP.

Yeah, that's too bad.  I liked the Addicted to Love song.

Sad... yet another falls at such a young age.

I actually dug a lot of his stuff even his Power Station days...

RIP Robert
Gotta love me or leave me alone....

Man, this has been a tough year on the celebs!   :'(

Very sorry and surprised to hear of Mr. Palmer's passing this morning.  Died of a heart attack in Paris, BTW...

He gave us some true classics, especially in respect to the video genre.  I agree with Jimmy, that there were some great songs there, dating all the way back to his Power Station days:  Some Like it Hot & Get it On (Bang a Gong), plus Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor) from his earlier solo days...

Very sad indeed.  Rest in peace, Robert Palmer.

BTW, I'm still not entirely over John Ritter's passing.  That's still got me wigged out that Jack Tripper is no more...   :'(

Ever since he died I can't stop thinking about how short life really is, and how he is going to be so greatly missed.  He was one of my favorite male comedians, and "Three's Company" is one of my favorite shows.

Like I said in Scumtown, I met Rerun once, and he was pretty cool (and obviously drugged up).

That's indeed sad news.  I used to watch "What's Happening" all the time when I was a young pup.  RIP.

Very sad indeed.  Like Jack Tripper, Rerun was another one of the funny guys on the tube that I just loved as a kid, and watched religiously.  He was 52, and supposedly died of natural causes, though he recently suffered a stroke which was likely part of the problem...

He was also married 6 times!   :o

Wha's Happenin' Roggg?!  (doin' the Rerun jig...)  Just a bad, bad year to be a celeb.  Still more than 2 months to go too!   :-\

If any of you guys are ever in Pittsburgh, make sure you let me know you're around and I'll show you the city and we'll take a drive through Mister Rogers' Neighborhood...

Literally.

I know where the church he attended is, and all that stuff...  He lived in Squirrel Hill, which really is in the heart of Pittsburgh.  A nice community, and I'm sure he made it all the more great when he was alive.

Can't say I watched Cap'n Kangaroo...  Bit out of my age range (Sorry Scott), but I know my brother Sean watched it often.

No prob...I must have been around the last agegroup though to see the Captain, he went off the mainstream air probably right before I started school (1981?) I was just reading that the show was on until the 90's must not have been on everywhere though and not at regular hours.

Sesame Street and Mister Rogers were a bigger part of boyhood for me, Captain Kangaroo was right there though too

Yeah, MisterRogers was practically required TV watching for you here, and Sesame St. was lucky to be on right afterwards. :)

Loved both as a kid, and still think Mister Rogers was the best TV for me at that age...  G.I. Joe slowly replaced him as I got older.  *sigh*

Bob Keeshan.   :'(

I grew up watching Captain Kangaroo as with Mister Rogers.  Both great shows.
