I was out at the BBQ last night cooking some chicken and steak for my family when I started hearing sirens coming from all over the place. There are townhomes located right behind our house and there's always kids out there running around, now, sadly, there is one less of them. I saw the ambulance leave and I had though someone either had a heart attack or was shot, this is much worse than that

Maplewood girl dies after playground accident

A 4-year-old girl who was injured after becoming entangled in a playground rope ladder near her Maplewood home died Sunday.
Jennifer Haffely stopped breathing after her neck got caught in the rope ladder at about 5 p.m. Saturday.
She died about 4 p.m. Sunday after being taken off life support at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, according to hospital spokesman James Lockwood.
Her family declined to comment.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 9 p.m. today at the playground on Mesabi Avenue. A memorial fund in her name has been established at Lake Area Banks, 1535A Beam Av., Maplewood, 55109.
