ROTS: Toys We've Gotten That Weren't On Film
« on: May 23, 2005, 11:19 AM »
After seeing the movie this past weekend (great!), it seemed like there were a number of characters or other things that we've gotten toys of (already) that were either barely seen, or not seen at all.  I've only seen the movie once so far, so I might have missed a few things that were there.

Clone with Jetpack (didn't really see this, or I missed it)
Mon Mothma (cut from film, maybe in the background and I missed it)
Shaak Ti and Luminara Unduli (in council scenes perhaps, but barely seen...then again, they are "background characters" :P)
Yoda on Cancell (this might have been there, saw the Cancells, but didn't remember Yoda riding them.  My wife said she thought she did, so I might have just missed it)
White Clonetroopers - They were in there, but really, I think we saw various colored clones much more often.  For all the army building many of us have been doing, I really didn't seen a ton of the plain old white clones, more of the different variations.

Shaak Ti and Luminara Unduli

Well, Shaak Ti had her original death scene cut, and her second death scene shot during pickups last fall was also cut, so she didn't wind up in the film at all.  All that work that people put into the makeup, animatics, and so on for nothing.   :'(

Luminara, however, is on screen very briefly (I'm talking single frame of Tyler Durden briefly) during the opening scene on Kashyyyk.  She's standing on the beach during the pan across talking to either some Clones or some Wookiees (or both), but I can't remember which.  Her skin was significantly lighter than every other source I've seen too; it was almost white in color as opposed to the olive green we've gotten used to.

I'm still wondering why the BARC Speeder included a figure that doesn't even ride it in the film.  Did Hasbro just say, "Hey, that guy is a Biker Scout" and include it without thinking or seeing actual stills from the film?

And again, in what is becoming my crusade I suppose, the MagnaDroids we got are half the size of the ones in the film.  FILM ACCURATE MAGNADROIDS PLEASE!

Good call, now that you say that I seem to recall that as well.  A very brief apperance on the beach in Kashyyyk.

I didn't see the Brown Circles, the Green Striped or the Blue Symboled (ala Target trooper) version  of the Clones either

Mon Mothma (cut from film, maybe in the background and I missed it)

She was in one scene, walking down the hallway on the Tantive with Bail and two other people.

I didn't remember seeing the clone commander either, but with tons of clone troopers, it could be easy to miss.

Yeah Scott, the gal on Tantive IV was not Mon Mothma.

The only place Mon Mothma can really be seen is in the group of Senators who greet Anakin and Palpy when they land at the Senate (after the crash).

I don't think he was there either, the clones talking behind Anakin and Obi-Wan were Yellow Utapau versions

I don't think you could see the AT-TE Gunner either

Well, I for one am glad that we are getting figures of characters cut from the movie... the more toys the better.  But I was really disappointed to see Shaak Ti cut out... she's a cool looking character, and the actress is so hot!

The Yellow Commander was there, but I never saw a Red one.
