I can't type this again without breaking down, so, please excuse:
Ever get at a loss for words?
I'm going to just type this out, and it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, because so many of you mean so much. To the layperson who doesn't know of our in-person time together and the years some of us have been here, it may seem completely irrational, but I know it's not in my heart...
my doctors told me today they aren't going to be able to cure me and make the cancer go away.
they could get the lower tumors gone, but it won't stop it from coming right back because they have moved up into the lymph nodes near my lungs. so, they suggest that I take part in a clinical trial to see if maybe one of those new drugs might have some affect. I'm waiting for the next two days to see if I can get in to Baylor in Dallas or to MD Anderson in Houston.
I wish I had better news.

I don't really know what to say Shannon, other than that news breaks my heart, and I pray that the doctors are wrong, or that the experimental drugs can miraculously cure you.  Don't give up.  Stay strong, and know that you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers...

We'll always be here for you Shannon, just keep fighting it. If you can try and keep a positive outlook on this (I know that must be harder that anything I can imagine ) and fight it how ever you can, it will really help. I'm sure there is something the doctors can do, they just haven't thought of it yet. We will always be here for support. We send our best wishes your way.

I am so sorry to hear that sweetie.     God works miracles everyday -- perhaps these new drugs will be His miracle in you   I will continue to keep you in my prayers.  Even though I haven't met you (us chicks on JD seem to be few and far between ) I think about you often.  PM if you ever need to talk mommy to mommy.  I know it must be hard -- but keep digging girl!
