I vote for Yahoo. I personally think it will be easier, and it is free, which is always a plus. :)

I'm 99.9% with Yahoo.  Free and same main page as football makes it easy.  The 0.01% is if I don't like and can't modify they're set up, which I doubt will happen.

So, what do we have?  7 Teams?

I suppose we've got time to get a few more, but we should probably cap things at around 8 or 10 teams, eh?

You know, now that you say that, I realize I knew that your name was Ryan.  My apologies.

And besides, I just like to know the names of the people I crush.     ;)

Come on guys and gals, we need 3 more!

If push comes to shove and you need a 10th team, I suppose I could give hockey a whirl. Not like Basketball. Not doing that again. :o

Would love to have you in the league Kev.  Great year to start too with all the moves in free agency.  Good players are good players, but who knows how the chemistry will work out between teammates.

Exactly.  There's going to be a huge shift in the balance of power with smaller teams actually able to sign some bigger players.  Can anyone say Pittsburgh?  They've been a joke for a few years (sorry Jesse), but this year will likely be a very big difference.

And with so many teams signing new players, who knows what'll it'll do to team chemistry.  It's going to be a very fun season.   8)

PM Jamie (jjks) cause I'm sure he'd love to join the league.

Glad to see they are finally letting you sign up.  Have you created the league yet Brent?

No, that must have come on line recently.  I checked two days ago and nothing.  I'll get us signed up.

Wow, that took a long time ::)

Here are the settings as they currently are.  These are all subject to discussion/vote/whatever.  I like it simple but I can change.

League ID# 2296
League Name: Jedidefender
Password: berry

Draft Type: Offline Draft

Max Teams: 12

Scoring Type: Points Only

Max Moves: No maximum

Max Trades: No maximum

Trade Reject Time: 2 days

Trade End Date: March 9, 2006

Waiver Time: 1 day

Can't Cut List Provider: Yahoo! Sports

Trade Review: League Votes  - I'm not sure what this meant, if it's just veto potential, fine, I don't think we need to approve each trade.

Max Games Played: 82

Start Scoring on: Wednesday, Oct 5

Weekly Deadline: Daily - Tomorrow

Roster Positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR

Stat Categories: G, A, +/-, W, SHO

Stat Modifiers: G(1), A(1), +/-(1), W(1), SHO(3)

Some things I left out:
We could add more players, if you like.  Additional wingers, perhaps 3 of each rather than 2.  Or we could add a flex/utility position.  I'm sort of opposed to that on traditional grounds but I'm old anyway.

Scoring is, as I said, simple.  Goals, assists, +/- for skaters, wins and shutouts for goalies.  I didn't see the ability to modify goals or assists for goalies to be higher point values.  Do you want to?

I'm fairly intractable on the shutout value.  I've played lots of times with it set at 5 points but that makes the goaltender the high scorer on most teams.  That, to me anyway, is stupid.  They're valuable but not that valuable.

I'd prefer to cap it at 10 teams but left it at the default in case we get a sudden flurry of interest.

League starts 05 October.  I'd like to have a week to input the teams, so the draft needs to be done by around 28 September or so.  The football draft has been slow, looking like it will need three weeks to finish.  I don't mind the speed like that, so we should start the draft around 07 September.  Is this reasonable?

I'll review the stuff that Yahoo has up by way of information over the next couple of days.

4. Jeff
5. Ryan
6. Rob
7. Jason
8. Kevin
9. Jamie
10. Jim

We appear to be set at 10.  I can make it bigger if need be, but I'd like to keep it at 10 if possible.
