10:11 EST:

The Golden Girls 38.81
The Mathematicians 76.47

Well, poop. 4th isn't too bad I guess.

Damn. I guess 4th isn't too bad. If the stats from today stay as is, you'll have the #3 seed by 0.28 points. All I needed was 6 more yards.  >:(

Oh well. Guess I'll just have to take it out on whoever ends up with the 5 seed.

With Yahoo, that margin could change overnight though...

Apparently, my calling should have been sports statistician - I'm having fun crunching the numbers on the playoff seeding. Seeds 1-4 look pretty well locked up:

1) Minnesota Muskies
2) The Famine
3) SGC Airmen
4) The Mathematicians

The only way these change is with a massive Yahoo stats change or with Seattle's Defense/Special Teams scoring 18 or more points (if that happens, the Airmen drop somewhere to 4-6).

Mathematically eliminated are Nerfherders (by record), THE CUSPIDS (by record), and the Golden Girls (by virtue of season points at a record of 6-7).

Dressel's Vengeance looks like the 7 seed and prime for a rematch with Kevin, unless both The Zods and the Capital Land Cats make up enough points to pass Dressel for the season (which looks extremely unlikely, given the amount of points needed and the fact Dressel has a couple of players Monday anyway).

5 & 6 look like they will go to the winners of the Capital Land Cats/Zods and
the Nameless/Canuckleheads game (barring the aforementioned Seattle DEF/Special Teams getting 18+ points).  Season point totals will determine which winner gets which seed, with the bunching up of the Capital Land Cats, The Zods and the Nameless leaving it too close to call at this point.

Whichever loser of these 2 games has the higher point total on the season looks to be the 8 seed and the pleasure of facing Scott. Brent doesn't have enough points to lose this weekend and grab the 8 seed.

Whew - good stuff. :)

Yup, thankfully I was leading all 12 teams in the league in points scored for the season, coming into week 13, because my team flat out did not score a TD either throwing, receiving, or rushing.  I was already in the playoffs coming into this week, the only bad thing that could happen is that my seed would drop.

Zods is 1 Greg Lewis or Shaun Alexander TD away from being knocked out of his playoff spot by the Kats.

Looks like the Seahawks might shut Alexander down with a 42-0 lead.  I'm not terribly worried about Greg Lewis given who's playing QB for the Eagles.

I'm actually geting nervous. 42-0, the Seatle D might just get 18. :-[ :-\

EDIT: In fact I'm willing to bet I lost. 3 INTs, 2 FF, 3 TDs, 0 pts.

Philly SUCKS. >:(

Philly doesn't even seem to be able to get to mid-field.

Big special thanks to the Seahawks defense who put the game out of reach so early that Shaun Alexander got to sit down before scoring his third touchdown.  Even more amazing is that I managed to end up with a 5 seed.

Of course, I probably just lost Brian Westbrook, and Neil Rackers is still hurt (literally my two best players).

Sorry Ryan. When I was running the numbers, I didn't figure the Seahawks defense could get to 18, much less 34. That's just insane!

Confirmed - Brian Westbrook is out for the remainder of the season with a foot injury.

Well, considering the crap that I've put on the field every week, I'll have to consider it a moral victory to have ended up with the #5 seed come playoff time.  Looks like I'll be fielding Jamal Lewis and Fred Taylor at RB with either Darrel Jackson (knee permitting), Ron Dayne, Ricky Williams, Koren Robinson, or Artose Pinner at WR\RB.    I'm also without my star kicker - who ended up being the fourth highest scoring player in the league up to this point behind only Alexander, Tomlinson, and E. James.  All of my first four rounds worth of draft picks are now either complete busts or are on IR.

What an inspiring group I've got left here....

Hopefully that is good news for me, I seem to play all my wins really close, that might be the edge I need, cause I really don't have the most productive RBs in the league...
