So my 72.05 points is enough to beat 10 of the 11 potential opponents this week...  go figure, I'm up against the guy who scores 81+   >:(

I've been there -  If this were a points league, you'd be jumping up and down.  But since it's a W-L league, it totally sucks.  See my Week 2 loss to Famine for more information on this subject.

EDIT:  Or even better, just look at the new standings today.  I am 2nd in the league in points, and 10th in the standings.  That is just unexplainable.

It feels good to be on this side of it. :)

I've been in your spot 3 times this year in my other league. >:(

I can understand your frustration, Dressel. I'm looking at the standings and realizing that I'd better keep winning if I want to get into the playoffs, 'cause I'm sure not going to have more points than most folks if it comes down to the tiebreaker for the same record.

That being said, I've never been in a fantasy league with this much of a logjam in the standings. It's amazing how many teams are between 6-4 and 4-6.

I just can't believe that I have more total points than 10 of the 11 other teams in the league and am 10th in the standings.  That just goes to show that my team is a great scoring team, with poor luck in the close games.  If I don't win 2 out of the next 3, I'm definitely not making the playoffs.

Yep - I went from 5-4 to 5-5 and it dropped me 4 places in the standings.

I'm in the exact same boat in my spawn.com league.  I'm 5-5 but have the second most points and I'm in sixth place.  Only the first four make the playoffs over there, so I'm in serious trouble at the moment.

Of course I am the source of frustration here.  I'm 6-4, in fifth place and have the third lowest point total overall.  Based on my drafting I should be in dead last position.  I'm amazed where I am considering how closely this league seems to watch the waiver wire.

Maybe next season we should just ditch the head-to-head scoring?  Personally I like it because it gives everyone a chance of winning - but it means that the best teams don't always win.

Personally I like it because it reflects the reality of what happens in the league.  Why is Dressel where he is in spite of his huge point total?  Tomlinson didn't score for two weeks.  I expect he lost both those matchups.  I know the exact feeling because I have LT in the spawn league, I didn't win those either.  But LT has put up huge numbers in other weeks.

Football just strikes me as different from hockey or basketball in terms of scoring.  You need the team, offense, defense, linemen, etc. to play well for the scorers to score.  Bryant can pot 45 a night and the Lakers can still lose.  You aren't likely to see Tomlinson put up four touchdowns and have his team lose.

And bye weeks are an issue too.  The only big reason Dressel lost this week is because his star is on a bye and perhaps some other key players.  Well, it didn't happen until week 10 for him.  How many other people lost because of the bye week schedule in week 4-5-6-7-8-9?

I think if you want to resolve it and have it reflect the season better cut a bunch of people out of the playoffs.  We only have two weeks of playoffs in the spawn league, only the top four get in :o and they don't start until week 15.  I don't remember when we run the playoffs here but eight were in last year I think, so we lost a week.  But less teams in the playoffs means you get at least one extra week to adjust your W-L record without bye weeks affecting you.

I think it's fine the way it is, it's worked for 3 years in JD Fantasy Football.  I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that I am a victim.

I truly think that head to head makes things more interesting and competitive...it is no fun to have one team clinching as champion midseason...also this system makes you be more creative and agressive from the start..you have no time to wait and see...I do agree that the playoffs start to early...This has been the best fantasy league i have participated and i hope to get invited again next year

Well, my team finally went off this week (and would have done better had a I kept Kevin Curtis and Cadillac Williams in the lineup  :-\ ), but I'm really anxious about Antonio Gates' foot.

Hopefully, I'll still have enough to kick Dressel to the curb later this week...

My team sucks - big time.  I'll be lucky to make the playoffs.

Thankfully I have Hockey and Basketball this time around.   :-\

Well, outside of Gado scoring four TD's and the Packers D scoring a couple more, I'll go out on a limb and suggest I'll lose this week. :-\  WR's are just hurting me too much.  Branch is great, dependable, but beyond that it's been a stretch this year.

I wish I had my roster from the spawn league over here:

QB M. Bulger
WR L. Evans
WR C. Johnson
WR Ma. Jones
RB S. Gado
RB L. Tomlinson
TE R. McMichael
________________
BN J. Porter
BN L. Coles
BN J. Jurevicius
BN M. Barber
BN R. Johnson
BN S. McNair
K J. Brown
DEF Atlanta

Look at what I had to leave on the bench - Porter, Barber and Johnson all scored.  The only position that sucks over there is TE and McMichael has been decent enough most of the year.

You guys pay way more attention to the waiver wire than that league does.  I had a better draft to start with there though.
