Glassman's Customs
« on: July 12, 2005, 10:23 AM »
*** UPDATE ***  10 APR 08 Page 20

This custom is a result of the Group project #7 over at scum. The group projects are sort of learning excercizes where we share different  techniques to end up with the same figure.

These parts were casted from Aya Vida with hands from Admiral Ackbar and then modified with wax and re-casted.

I casted the final parts in redish brown plastic to match ackbar.

I drybrushed the browns on the figure leaving some of the red showing thru. I drybrushed the front of the clothing as to give it a sort of sheer look.(still trying to perfect that)

I am stunned that we have collectors who can make figures like this, yet Hasbro turns out pieces like the SAGA hoth rebel trooper and ROTS 3-foot-tall oompaloomp Mace Windu.

OUTSTANDING work dude, unsurpassed talent - including Hasbro sculpters.

WOW!  I agree with Dresel Rebel, that is way better than anything hasbro could have done!  Amazing!  I can't think of a single thing that you should change on that figure.   :o
The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
Is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

This is beyond awesome.  It's a true work of art.  I would really like to see Hasbro attempt this, but I'm sure they couldn't match this level of detail.

I am in awe of your talent.  You continue to improve with each one of your projects... you put my stuff to shame!

The group project is still open to anyone that wants to participate. This one ends July 27th. Its not a contest but a way to share knowledge, show off work in progress pictures and get suggestions while a figure is being built. We have two figures in this group project. You can do either one. The other figure is a female protocol droid from the senator scene in ROTS. Check out the RS customs forum for the thread.

Thanks! It's funny how reddish that figure looks. In reality, she is very chocolate brown.

I finally started on my Mon Calamari dancer tonight.  Mine is going to be a bit of a different flavor... and won't look nearly as cool as these other ones.  But, I am for the first time experimenting with sculpting.
