That Mando helmet came out GREAT!  Nice work Glassman  ;D

I also love those custom carded 12-backs, they look perfect.  I can't wait to see you tackle ESB  :)

Got my Mando helmets yesterday and I have to say they are great.  The mod is flawless and you can't even tell which part was added.  Thanks again GM!

glassman i was thinking of something while i was sitting in traffic the other day.  i had just finished looking at your casts for the jango helmets and admiring the helmet cast for the clones and stormies before i had left work so they were still fresh in my mind.  have you ever thought with all the mad skills you have at both sculpting and casting about doing stormie clone hybrid helmets?  who wouldn't want to have a stormie helmet with the Bacarra style additions, or stormie helmet w/cody helmet styling or even stormie with neyo styling.  it would give or stormtrooper legions some variety.  you'd have to think that not all of the additions and stylings were just to give the clones some character they had actual purpose.  it would also make for good evolution from clone to stormie.  in the evolution of the 2 they changed the helmet from EP II to EP III so in between EP III and EP IV keep the keep the helmet and change to stormie armor.  i think chewie did an evo of a stormie with 501st legion markings which was cool.  i know i through out a lot of ideas at once but it's just a thought.

Re: Glassman's Customs - Delta Squad
« Reply #171 on: April 16, 2006, 10:45 PM »
It seems like Republic Commandos will be to 2006 what clones were to 2005, but
I had to do these too. But not only did i do One squad, I did two.
Remember Ricky UK/Concept UK's masterful Republic commando sculpt. Well i was lucky enoguh
to get it from him back in 2004. ( Yes it's been sitting on my shelf since then)

So when i started to Mod hasbro's scorch to make the rest of his squad, i figured why not get them all done.
While doing these, i was reminded just how impressive UK's sculpt is.

Who's the boss?

I used my patented "Make allmost any helmet removable without dremeling it to death" technique
to make removable helmets for scorch. While i was at it, i did the same for UK's.
Only problem i had was that the helmet was smaller than usual, but Hasbro's cody came to the rescue.

For each figure, attached a cast neck post.

I aslo cast the back pack and gun so i would have one for the second set. Here are the moded casts

The rest of the squad.

I'm not sure who was supposed to be vat mates, so excuse if i have the heads wrong

Holy crap, you've been busy!  Those Delta squads (both sets) look awesome!  It amazing how good the original sculpt looks compared to the Hasbro version.

On the removable helmets, are those standard Commando helmets that you made hollow using "glassman style" or are the resculpted to be larger?

I'm also curious, why are the various clone heads different colors?

WHOA!  Great work here G!  I didn't realize how good the RickyUK sculpts were, they held up really well  :o

I love the removable helmets, I think all figures should have removable helmets if possible.  The paint apps look really well too, nice work.

Did you articulate the knees and ankles on the hasbro version?  It's hard to tell from the pics

Man, They turned out Great Glassman. I dig the removable helmet. I still thing Nik did a better sculpt than Big H. I can't believe you let that thing sit on the shelf for 2 years. Ryan

Thanks guys,

BrentS, I was home thursday and friday,(took a couple days to spend some of easter break wih my son)
So when he had enough of me and went outside to play with his friends... Plus no internet... Custom Time!
I did the same thing to hasbo's helmet that i did to the fett helmet.
The clone heads are different colors cause it was easter!  I just added pigment to the plastic so i could see the details better when painting. The plstic by itself is a translucent amber. Hard to make out sometimes.

Grego, thanks man. Yes Nik'c sculpts are phenomenal. Definatly tops Hasbro.

Fritz, i had plans to do an omega squad, but I think i'm done with these. DOnt wanna spend another year on RC's like i did with clones.

Bantha5, thanks alot buddy. I couldnt agree with you more. As for them sitting on my shelf, half of it was procrastination and the other half was that i was afraid i would ruin them.

Hem, thanks alot for the kind words.

Glassman, you're starting to make me like the Commando designs a lot more... and that's hard to do as I've been a critic of them for quite some time.  Your work here is just spectacular, something we always look forward to seeing is your updates.  Ricky's sculpting is still amazing too.

 :)

Thanks Chew, I cant say enough how much better Nil's RC is than Hasbro.
I think it will be hard for you to find anyone who would disagree.
