Re: Glassman's Customs -Vintage Han Stromie Carded

A whole day off and all i got done was a card....

Here is may vintage han stormie carded.
Since i dont have any vintage bubbles, i used a repro and cut the helmet holder from ROTS Tankgunner. Turned it around and trimed it to match the corner of the Repro bubble and  it looks pretty close to the original vintage bubble.
I will have to redo it, as the glue i used didnt cloud the repro bubble but it started to cloud the helmet area.
I'm really just showing the concept. I think it works well.

and incase you missed it.

Great looking cardback GM.  Your cards look great as aways. I really like how you handled the helmet with having a separate small bubble for that.  That has been one of my issues when carding helmeted figure. Thanks for the idea!!

Thanks Phalanxx, It has bugged me for a long time too. Funny thing, I thought about the idea
3 days ago or more. I've spent the last 3 days looking for an empty bubble that had the holder fo a helmet.
Coulndt find one...Searched throuh countless bins and boxes for one, I had given up  and was looking for an alternaitive and there was an empty Tank Gunner bubble right in front of my face at the base of my workbench... Man i felt stooooopid! I had taken the insert picture out so it was a plain bubble, and i just didnt recognize it with out the insert picture. DUh :-[

Very authentic. The face paint job looks very simple and vintage like. Is that a real han solo coin or one of your casts?

Are you going to do a vintage sandtrooper like Bantha5's?

Thanks chewie and Phruby.

Paul,  do you mean like this...

The coin is a cast. Ryan threw it in with the han cast.

Getting back to my recard project, these are a bit out of order, but i got a couple cards to add to the wall.
Delaton asked if i was gonna do multiples of each character, and i said if i had the extra figs,
i would make additional card versions. I was making a few coin casts so i decided to card a couple figs.

Here are a couple of them. I also redid my han stormie card.

The coins are casts. Here are a few more i made for later in the project.

Really neat Glassman!! It always amazes me when I see your cards, you must have a very good printer. What model do you have? Your cards come out perfect, profesionally printed. What do you use to print on? Any tips on what papers or carton we should buy?

Kit, I use my Epson 1280 inkjet for most of my cards.
Our office recently got a new color laser copier. It lets you
feed heavy stock horizontally through it.
I've been playing with lasering the images onto stiffer board. (like comic book backing boards)
These are lasered,  Han, ben and Vader.

If i ever come across an extra 30 grand... I'm getting one for the house!

Here is a WIP updade.
I just need to add the figures and bubbles. Hopefully this week.

Here are the 13-20 cards without the fett offer...

And all the coins i made for the POTF cards.

HAve you ever known you had a figure, planned to use it, made the card, and then couldnt find it...
I searched through every case and drawer i had my figures in and couldnt find the brown hair luke for his card...
I was gonna use a blond luke instead, took the picture and everything...and then it occured to me where
i didnt look.

Sorry, I'm not big on Vintage or Carding so I don't really know what we got here, If it's the best in the world or not the best I have no clue. It looks good to me though. :-\

Great work again Glassman.  You truly are the Cardback King!

They all look very clean and the coins are a great touch.  I wasn't old enough to really see any of these vintage cards in person, but I can definitely appreciate all the work that's went into them.

With Hasbro's future packaging leaning in the direction of these coin-based cards, I can't wait to see what you're able to do with THOSE!!

That's the sandtrooper I remember. I though you did that one awhile back. The cards look nice and crisp. That wall must be getting pretty full. The coins are the best part. I'm impressed you were able to track down so many of those.

Thanks for taking the time to comment smarty.
Thanks for the gracious word AE77, King?  I doubt that... more like the court jester!
Thanks Phruby,  ya know its a labor of love... You should see my list of coins i have now... I only need 10  more of the main 63 and i only need a few more Droids and Ewoks... Some day...

Anyway...IMPERIAL COMMANDO HELMETS

Well I had some time over the holiday so i finally got around to making some Imperial commando helmets.

After sith-fire30 made an incredible set of these, his post turned me onto their project,  so i had to have some. I plan to make all the ones on thier site...
SO this is the beginning stages.

I made casts of the VOTC stormtrooper helmet.  I modded them by sculpting the changes with wax.

Then i made casts and started painting them. THese were rough and rushed, but my next batch will be better. I just got the figures i'm putting these on today.

They were based on these

You can also see some Hybrid Helmets i made based off of chewie's idea and perennial's suggestion. They are stormtroopers with clone helmet accessories. There is a stormie with a bacarra helmet and a stormie with cody's visor. I'll paint these this weekend.

Here they are on my test fit clone trooper. I test all my helmet fits on him.

And lastly a real version of the clone cartoon pilot helmet

You're too modest man!  These look incredible, once you smooth them out a bit, they will be perfect.

I love the Clone Wars Pilot's helmet, it really looks like you just casted an existing helmet.
