As I said earlier, my wife is a HUGE fan and is anxiously awaiting the movie.  We've watched the whole thing on DVD (first time through for me) and are all set.

When the topic of going to the movie on Friday came up, she said to me, "This is what it must have been like for you and Star Wars".   ;)

Too bad she can't come down here and see the movie with me in Austin :(  Well, actually, if she has frequent flier miles or whatever and the time, I'd be glad to pick her up at the airport and drop her off- of course :)

i am pretty psyched about this.   i am anxious to find out how they tell the story of river in just 2 hours though.  in 13 episodes they didn't really tell anything about anyone.

This movie was ******* awesome.

It makes the prequels look like the boring twaddle that they kinda are.

I'd get there early. I went to a 4:30 PM show, and the theater was pretty full, especially for this area in the middle of the afternoon.

Wow....great movie.  I'll wait a day or so for people to see it for themselves before discussing it.

If you liked the Firefly story...you will NOT be disappointed.  You could also go see it without seeing Firefly and not be too lost.

This movie was fantastic Sci-Fi.  I wasn't a big fan of the show.  Couldn't get into the blending of genres, and it always felt a little cheesy.  But the movie was absolutely top-notch.

I can't recommend it enough. It was fantastic and I plan to drag some of my friends to see it who don't know anything about the show.

I couldn't get my friends to go (me being the only nerd of th e group :P) so I went by myself, and I'm going to echo what everyone else:That was one ******* good movie. I LOVED it. I'm also taking my friends I think it was excellent and ou didn't need to see the show, it helps but isn't necessary. I'll definitely going back to the theaters a few times for this one.

I took my girlfriend to see this movie and we were both really impressed. I loved it, being a fan of the show.

I thought the ending was so very clever.

Any talks of a sequal or a ressurection of the show?

I got to see the movie on Monday and it was all sorts of kick-ass. I attempted to watch the show when it was on Fox, but couldn't get involved. When it began airing on Sci-Fi I started to watch it, but then my cable company removed Sci-Fi from the lineup, so I got the DVD and watched the entire series. And it was just a great series that was cut short before it's time.

The movie flows just like the series, in fact like all of Joss Whedon's work.  Though that could be a bit bothersome to the uninitiated, as could some of the references and/or character relationships. The movie though was definitely outstanding and certainly leaves open the possibility of sequels, as Joss was recently quoted stating he was given the green light for more movies, although he didn't specify what movies.

I highly recommend seeing the movie, even for those who never followed the series. It certainly brings back the fun aspect to sci-fi movies that A New Hope brought almost 30 years ago.

An oh yeah....
