Looks like Marvel has updated its film release schedule, which now probably makes more sense.  It allows more prep time for Thor and Cap, moves Avengers away from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and Cap away from Spidey 4.  Here's the new schedule:

Iron Man 2 - May 7, 2010
Spider-Man 4 - May 6, 2011
Thor - June 17, 2011
Captain America - July 22, 2011
The Avengers - May 4, 2012

Also, it appears that Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson are officially on board with Iron Man 2.

Thor and Cap a month apart?  That's interesting.  I'm sure Summer blockbusters are probably the best way to go, but seems like they could build more hype by releasing one of these near the Winter holidays to keep the hype going all year around.  Didn't they do something similar with LOTR?

Yeah, I know that the summer movie season is where the studios want to hit big - but I'm often surprised that some seem to shy away from the holiday season.  Maybe that will change with Green Lantern currently set for a holiday release, but I can see your point - they could have left Cap in the summer and had Thor with a Nov/Dec release, then lead into the big Avengers extravaganza the next year.  Its kind of nice looking forward to a "big" movie in the winter months....I miss the days of the LOTR trilogy because of that.  Plus, lately they've been moving many of the Potter movies to summer - and I always sort of thought of them as winter movies as well.  Oh well, I'll see any of these no matter when they're released :).

Yes ... all three of the LOTR movies were released in December.

It appears the 2nd Mutant (Weapon XI?) in the last Wolverine trailer is indeed Deadpool, at least according to Ryan Reynolds.

IGN has a "March Madness" style tournament looking to find the best comic book movie (so far).  They seem to include a little of everything from Spidey/Batman/X-Men to Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, to American Splendor and Ghost World.

Deadpool (my favorite character ever) got a serious ass raping in that movie. But besides that, it was a good popcorn movie. I liked it more than X1 & X3.

Not the live action movie, but a trailer is up for WB/DC's next animated movie - Green Lantern: First Flight.  It looks pretty good so far.

Animated?!  I thought they were working on a live version of the jolly green ring-boy?   :(

They have started the casting work for GL, they just haven't announced/signed anyone yet.  ;)

There were a lot of rumors last month that Chris Pine (Kirk in the new Trek movie) got the part of Hal Jordan, but he said last week that while he did indeed meet with the casting director/producer, he hasn't agreed to anything nor has he even seen the script yet.

The GL movie is supposed to start shooting later this Fall in Australia.  The director attached to the film at the moment is Martin Campbell (Casino Royale).

ps.
GL:First Flight looks awesome.  I can handle them changing up some things (Abin Sur, Sinestro's timeline, etc) to create an "ultimates" type GL universe (like they changed some things to make Superman: Doomsday) as long as there is a good story...

SHH (via MTV) has posted 5 new character profile videos from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.  Included are Wolverine, Sabretooth, Gambit, Wade Wilson, and Wraith.  Kind of neat to see some new footage of characters like Gambit and Wilson.

I still think that getting Taylor Kitsch as Gambit is genius casting.  I'm still unsure about Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth but I'll wait till after the film to make my final judgement on that one.

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson is also pretty good but from the sounds of it he, and the character Deadpool, kind of get a ****** treatment in this film compared to the comic version.  Haven't read all the info out on the film but that's what I'm getting just from a few things I have seen and what's been in this thread.

Will.i.am looks like he's going to be good in this film also.  I really love it when a movie can surprise me from a casting standpoint when they get someone I never would have thought of to play a part and that person knocks it out of the park.  Hugh Jackman raised a lot of eyebrows when he as announced as Wolverine, but now after thee films, I can't picture anyone else in that role because he's done such a good job with it.  Robert Downy in IM, Bale as Batman...  I almost can't wait to see how they cast some of the other films coming in the near future.

Reynolds is pretty good when he's Wade. He's classic Deadpool there.
