Maybe the Conan movie will be called Conan the Destroyer of California.

Not sure how many of you saw/enjoyed the first Kick Ass, but here's the trailer for the sequel (Red Band version, just to warn you):

To be honest, I don't usually go for the blood/guts type movies that much, but I really did like the first Kick Ass and am sort of looking forward to this one as well.  Jim Carrey looks like he could steal the show.  I've only read a few issues of the comic book, so I'm not sure where the story goes (or if the movie even follows it all that much).

I loved the original comic series.  It was truly brilliant.

I hated the movie.  It's like the guy who wrote it looked at a few pages of the book, said "that's cool, that's cool, this could be even cooler." And then ignored everything else.  He had absolutely no grasp what the book was actually about.  I've rarely been as disappointed leaving a theater.

The second series was much more of a rah-rah hero book, and I didn't like it as much.  But it lends itself better to an adaptation along the lines of the first movie.

Latest rumor is that Warner Bros. will be announcing at SDCC today that the follow up to Man of Steel will be Superman/Batman in 2015, followed by the Flash in 2016, and Justice League in 2017.  That means 2015 will now have Star Wars VII, Avengers 2, Superman/Batman, Jurassic Park 4, Fantastic Four reboot, Ant Man, etc.

Chance of me seeing the Batman/Superman mash-up:

1) if Batman played by Christian Bale - 99%

2) if Batman played by JGL - 50%

3) if Batman played by some other doosh besides JGL or Bale - 0%

Seriously, just drive the frigging semi truck of cash to Bale's pad and park it.

Get Keaton back, make it Dark Knight Returns.

Or maybe Clooney.

Not Kilmer, it's Batman, not Fatman!  :D

Marvel Studios panel wrapped up a bit earlier, sounds like it was great as usual.  Cast and footage shown for Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy.  Also, Joss Whedon took the stage at the end to announce the title for Avengers 2, Avengers: Age of Ultron!

Also, Joss Whedon took the stage at the end to announce the ...

return of Firefly.

Ant Man casting news

Hank Pym = Paul Rudd (brilliant choice)
Janet Van Dyne = Rashida Jones (seems a bit old, IMO, but could work)

Happy to see they are still moving forward with Ant-Man and I like both of those actors.  I am a little disappointed that we won't see Wasp right away though.  A whole movie just about Pym might be a little flat, especially since someone else is handling Ultron.   :P

Good choices.  I guess the actual title of the film will be I Love You, Ant-Man.

Based on the naming of their other films I think they will title it "Ant-Man."   ;)
