Terminator the Series
« on: November 10, 2005, 10:26 AM »
Can you say lame.  www.comingsoon.net is reporting that the Sarah Connor Chronicles is coming to TV.  Sure the CGI could work for TV but the storyline is just getting to complicated and ruining a great story.  Also a 2nd Trilogy is in the works.

After reading this im sure someone is already thinking of an Aliens and or Predator TV series as well.

All those franchises have potential...  But unless they're focusing on specific groups and stuff, I cna't see it working.  Connor's not important enough I don't think and a series seems dumb around her, but a series set in the robot wars around resistance fighters could work.

Same for Aliens/Predator...  A series around Colonial Marines or something maybe has potential, but not one around Ripley or something.  I dunno.

I just happened to catch the pilot episode late last night on TV Links. I must say I was very impressed with this & will have to watch this series. Clicky link above if it has not been pulled to have a gander.  ;)

Oh, Lena Headey is hot!

Well, it looks to have high production values and will certainly be interestig, but how many times are they going to tell the same story?

As many as they can before it stops being profitable.

I'm ready to check it out.  I have very low expectations though.

Watched the pilot and it got my interest. I will check it out if only because Summer Glau is in it.

I don't know about the cute, Terminator girl?  We'll see how it goes.  I heard her deliver one line "Come with me if you want to live."  I kind of laughed out loud at that.  It reminded me of the wooden acting in the Star Wars prequels.  I just don't know?  I'll check it out of course.

I don't expect it to last very long, being a sci-fi show on Fox of all networks.

The show looks pretty ugly, but I'll give it a chance.

I just finished reading T2:Infiltrator and T2: Rising Storm by S.M. Stirling; these 2 books seem to be what the series is loosely based on.  In the books, though, the young female is not helping the Connors (and isn't as cybernetic as the one in the show).  I'll definitely catch the series.

I'm only interested as it will show with Prison Break as a buffer between when 24 makes its return, so I'm sure it will be a good filler for a week or two if not longer depending on how far the writers got with scripting.  Remember that Drive show on Fox?  That bombed after 2 weeks and it was pulled as a filler.  This Terminator show looks pretty lame as well so we'll see.

I was really hoping for a future-wars series against the terminators like we always got glimpses of in the films.  That's keeping my interest a little lower on this series.  I am however amped to see that show where people are hooked to lie detectors and asked if they'd cheat on their wives.  That looks fantastic.
