2006 Packaging Unveiled
Lucas Licensing has unveiled what we can look forward to on the shelves in 2006 with their 2006 Packaging Design. Click the image above to check it out. Much like the story JediDefender broke last year on what the Revenge of the Sith packaging style was with several early sample images, it appears LFL has several simple items packaged up to give you a hint of what to look forward to... even that same old Episode 2 Clone helmet I see.
The new packaging doesn't appear to deviate much from the current line, with some more "classic" lettering and a planetary background as opposed to the splattering lava motif. Vader's McQuarrie-esque image will remain as a focal point on the packaging as well.

New Review: Utapaun Warrior
JediDefender.com is proud to unveil another figure in our on-going reviews. This time we crack open the Utapaun Warrior, and we find out just what makes this obscure army builder tick. Probably not high on many people's want-lists, the Utapaun Warrior dishes out some good and some bad, but doesn't every figure really have that? Well for some figures it can be a bit more detrimental. Check out the full review for what I mean.
Of course when you're finished, please feel free to hop on into our Reviews Forum and share your thoughts on this figure or your own reviews with us.

New Review: Captain Antilles
Another review for your reading pleasure here at Jedi Defender. This week we're taking a close look at the good ship leia-pop's commander, Captain Antilles. Lego Gets Cosmetic Surgery
Star Wars.com had a little update featuring the new Lego Slave I that's coming out soon. The baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy is getting his ride pimped by Lego designers, as are other classic ships like the A-Wing and B-Wing fighters.
Also it appears that Slave-I will be stocked full new mini-figures including IG-88, Dengar, Fett (of course), and a Bespin Guard. Good stuff for the brickheads out there!

PSWCS Celebrates 5-year Anniversary
Something that strikes home for me personally, recently my own state's collecting group celebrated the 5-year anniversary of the Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society (PSWCS). PSWCS was born on August 19th, 2000 when 9 Star Wars collectors (and one Star Wars widow) met at the West Shore Public Library in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. It has grown to 275 members and has become one of the most active and respected collecting clubs in the country. In addition to monthly meetings all across the state of Pennsylvania, PSWCS participates in events such as Celebration 2 & 3, our annual Summer Social and our winter Toy Drive to benefit Garrison Carida of the 501st. Please join us in celebrating five years of sharing the Star Wars experience.
The PSWCS is where I've met some of my best friends in the Star Wars collecting hobby, and Jedi Defender.com is glad to congratulate them on 5 years of excellence.

SideShow 12" EU Vote
Like the old saying goes, your vote is your voice, so for those of you looking forward to Side Show Collectibles new 12" line, go cast your vote for the first 12" Expanded Universe Figure Poll. The winner will get the royal treatment from Side Show, and EU fans will finally have something to rejoice about.
Choices include Kir Kanos, Grand Adm. Thrawn, Padme in Snowsuit, Mara Jade, Quin Lon Vos, and Asajj Ventress. I personally would've had Kyle Katarn on that list over a couple of those names, but there-in lies the problem with EU figures and fandom I suppose.

Evolutions Bundle At StarWarsShop.com
Looking for the Clone Evolutions set? Well you can now pick it up at StarWarsShop.com bundled with the Sith Evolutions Set. Get your order in for the Evolutions Bundle Assortment that is available right now for $54.99.
And there's an interesting tag at the end of the product description for the bundles as well that reads: "With more Evolutions series planned, start your collection today with this great bundled pair available now!". Of course, take that line with a grain of salt, as all arrows have pointed to the Evolutions Line being capped at just the three known sets. However, we can always hope Hasbro rethinks that decision on a great concept they have going.

Good Deals To Be Had
A little heads up to our readers that you may find some odd, but incredibly great deals out there right now. Some are at some retailers you wouldn't expect too.
First at Target, reports of the Target Exclusive Clone Trooper is showing up again for as little as $6 and change. Not bad for a figure that was around $13 originally, though the reports of these findings are scattered so your mileage (and luck) may vary greatly.
The second sighting of deals is at Family Dollar stores, which you may or may not have in your local area. I can attest to the deals at these stores though myself, as I've found several Vintage OTC figures (including the harder to find figures like 3PO and R2-D2) for a mere $5. Half off is certainly a deal on any VOTC figure though. So keep your eyes open as there's some odd deals surfacing at retail right now.

New Review: Palpatine (Lightsaber Attack)
Jedi Defender.com presents review for your reading pleasure. This time I took an in-dept look at that cackling nutjob, Palpatine (Lightsaber Attack).
