Spike Lands Star Wars Saga
A number of sources are saying that Spike TV, the current home of that other series with "Star" at the beginning, has acquired the rights to air the entire Star Wars Saga, including Revenge Of The Sith, on television. The deal is reported to take effect April 2008, and to have cost a whopping $65 - $70 million for 6 years.

Target Aims Low
On a recent trip to Target I found that quite a number of Star Wars items were on sale, though not massive price-drops. Actually, pretty much every Star Wars toy in the aisle had a sale price, however the Plo Koon Starfighters and Coruscant Clone 5-packs were all still full price.
Everything else though, from basic figures to Deluxe, and Attacktix to Vader Voice Changers, had markdowns of varying amounts. The Exclusive TIE Fighter was even down a little bit to about $36. So now may be a chance to pick up some of those items you were holding off on and hoping to get a little bit cheaper at your local Target store.

Carded Separation of the Twins
 
The Official Site brings us some great pictures today of the upcoming "Separation of the Twins" figures! While we've known about these Wal-Mart exclusives for a while now, it's great to see finished version of both the figures and their unique cardbacks.
It appears they are re-releases of the Obi-Wan Pilot and Bail Organa figures with baby versions of Luke and Leia, respectively. The cards are a transition from the ROTS to the Saga Collection and look very sharp!

New Items Arriving at Target
Reports are coming into the JD newsroom that the Target fall exclusives are turning up in stores across the country. So far, the Clone Attack On Coruscant Battle Pack (DPCI# 087-06-0228), the Duel at Mustafar Deluxe Figures (DPCI# 087-06-0298), and the Plo Koon Jedi Starfighter (DPCI# 087-06-1204) have been found and the Utapau Shadow Trooper (DPCI# 087-06-0516) isn't far behind. It might be time to stop into your local Target and check it out!
UPDATE: Talk about timing, this reporter found his Clone Battle Pack today so they are definitely out there!

Clone Evolution Paint Variant?
Thanks to forum member Diddly for pointing out something that I'd just caught last night myself. The Clone Evolutions Sandtrooper has a surprise paint variant already. The paint applications for the dirt/sand details have both a "smeared" and "sprayed" version. The smeared Sandtrooper seems to have been in the earlier shipped Clone sets while the sprayed version I found just yesterday at a local Toys R Us.
I supplied the best comparison shot of the two Sandtroopers that I could with my limited resources. The difference is very noticeable, and both paint details are applied by clearly different methods and look substantially different in quality. Click the image above to see a larger shot. The Trooper on the left is the "smeared" version and the right one is the "sprayed" version.

UPDATE:
Slave1.jp does it again with an Amazing Hi-Res Gallery of the latest AMT/Ertl Model Kits we reported on last week. The pictures also include the upcoming B-Wing Fighter as well. The ships are likely to be much smaller than 1:18 scale (closer to 1:32 perhaps) but still the models look very impressive and a nice change of pace from the classic trilogy sets out at retail.

Attakus Star Wars Diorama Update
A bit of news about the first Star Wars Diorama from Attakus - The Death Star Hangar! A few on-line e-tailers have started taking pre-orders and the details are staggering. The set will be sold in 2 pieces and each piece will be limited to 400. The first half will be the Falcon shell as pictured above, which is scheduled to include a metal Mouse Droid figurine and retail for approximately $2400. The second half will be the Death Star Hallway, which is scheduled to include a metal Stormtrooper Luke and retail for approximately $800.

Toy Shop Auctions for Katrina Relief
