New Remoted Controlled R2-D2
Japanese manufacturer Tomy's Remote Controlled Astromech Line has become very popular with collectors. Due out next February are two "new" additions to the line. The previously released R2-D2 will be repackaged in 30th Anniversary packaging, and there will also be a second version of everyone's favorite little droid as well. The second version will feature a dirty paint scheme as was seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Thanks to Blister.jp for the images!

New Unleashed Battle Packs & GH Hitting Shelves
 
The new Order 66 Unleashed Battle Packs have been found at a couple of SoCal Target stores this week. The latest wave includes two Jedi vs. Sith sets and two Clone Trooper sets (Shocktroopers and 501st).
Also arriving in stores this week is the ESB wave of Galactic Heroes 2-Packs featuring the Snowtrooper & Hoth Rebel, Bespin Luke & Lando, Bespin Leia & Vader, and Chewie & C-3PO. In addition, some much needed refresher cases of the recent ANH sets are arriving as well. Thanks to MetalJedi for the tip!
Last, but not least, the Greatest Battles #14 Clone Commander is now shipping in both Lime and Cherry flavors. Happy hunting!

For the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope, Del Rey Books is releasing The Making of Star Wars, a brand new book that details the creation of the first Star Wars film. Due on April 24th of next year, there will be both hardcover (372 pages) and trade paperback (324 pages) editions. The hardcover includes 48 pages of bonus material that wil not be available elsewhere.

French TRU Exclusive Clone Trooper - Update
Many folks have e-mailed to ask about the U.S. availablity of the exclusive Clone Trooper that appeared as a promo item at French Toys R Us stores earlier this month. While the figure is nothing more than last year's Target Exclusive Clone Trooper, he's got carded collectors clamoring for him on his new 2006 Saga Card. We've been able to confirm that European TRU stores in Germany and the UK will eventually see this figure, but unfortunately there are still no details on if he'll be available in the USA.

Hasbro 2006 Q3 Report
The folks at Hasbro put out their 3rd Quarter Reports today and the news is good, though Star Wars is still declining in sales. You can check out the Market Watch Report on the matter.
It may seem like sales are fine for Star Wars to Joe Collector out there, but they're still basing the decline this year against the sales of last year's movie year tie-in, so bear that in mind. There is a definite difference between the two years in terms of the amount of product available on the shelves of course.

New Review: Death Star Gunner
We continue the Endor Wave reviews this week with quite possibly one of the best made figures in the basic line this year. I certainly got the army building fever with the new Death Star Gunner. With the figure becoming pretty common on the pegs in recent weeks, fans will maybe want to check out this week's review if they're on the fence about owning a couple of this well made resculpt. $7 figures have been tough pills to swallow this year, but this kind of quality makes it a bit easier.

According to Blister.jp, there is an Exclusive Black & White Boba Fett Maquette due out sometime around November 2006. It appears to be a repaint of the previous Boba Fett maquette. Lucasfilm Wins Infringement Lawsuit
Lucasfilm was awarded $20 million in damages after winning a copyright infringement and unfair competition case in U.S. District Court. Lucasfilm sued Shepperton Design Studios and its owner, Andrew Ainsworth, for illegally producing various pieces of replica Imperial Armor such as Stormtrooper and TIE Pilot gear. Colbert to Announce Greenscreen Edit Winner
We reported a few months back that Steven Colbert of The Colbert Report had announced a Jedi Edit Greenscreen Challenge. During the filming of one of his episodes Colbert rolled around in front of a greenscreen, with a lightsaber, fighting an imaginary space monster. While it was already pretty funny in its own right, he challenged any of his talented viewers to edit the clip so that he was no longer fighting an imaginary monster. He will announce a winner on tonight’s episode which airs at 11:30PM EDT/10:30PM CDT on Comedy Central.

Lucasfilm Shifts From the Big to the Small Screen
George Lucas has decided that it is time to take Lucasfilm in a new direction. After his recent donation of $175 million to USC, Lucas has announced that Lucasfilm will now be moving away from the big screen for good, and will be taking up TV and animation full time, because he sees it as the future of the industry. Lucas says not to worry that Indy IV and his film about the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII are still in the works for the future. But they will be the last time we see Lucasfilm pictures on the big screen.

New Review: Moff Jerjerrod
Our reviews are back for another week polishing off another figure from the "Endor Wave". This week's fun-fest picks the new Moff Jerjerrod figure apart. If you read the Q&A's Hasbro have with collecting sites then you'll know that some of this figure was creative license from the Hasbro designers. Is that what you want in your toy, or do you want a more boring look to Jerjerrod, and ultimately a more accurate figure? Count me in for the latter, as you read my review and disappointment.
