Sideshow Collectibles 1:1 Busts
« on: May 21, 2005, 02:26 AM »
Yes, it's true!

http://www.sideshowtoy.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=051905swbusts

1:1 Scale with Sideshow's love for detail?  Should be amazing!

The San Diego Comic-Con, July 14-17th, will tell us who the first bust will be.

Any guesses?

Whatever it is, you can guarantee this will be one of the most expensive Star Wars collectibles on the market right now...

I don't think it takes a brain surgeon to figure out what Sideshow's first piece would be.  Darth Vader.  How could they NOT do that for the launch of this line?

Bearing that in mind, I think these things could easily cost $600+.  I would be very surprised if they cost less than even $500.

Id be surprised to see them go the route of a helmeted character, simply because it gets so close to doing a helmet replica, and not a character bust. Unless they do a Vader revealed, and I could see the easily fetch $1200+

I'm one of the biggest Vader collectible fans out there, but I'm actually hoping that they don't do Vader first, simply because they've got the Vader statue coming out soon.

I haven't been very impressed with the facial sculpts of Luke and Han for their statues, so I'm not sure they can pull off human busts.  I hope I'm wrong though.

I'd love to see them do creature busts, like Chewie.  They'd be a lot more interesting (unless, like I said, they can improve their human sculpting).

If this is a sign of what we can expect for the price of these busts, I'll never be buying one of these.

Predator 1:1 Bust : $845

However, it certainly is encouraging as to their ability to sculpt creature-type faces.   :)

Seeing pictures like this is starting to make it much easier to change the focus of my collection from Hasbro to these higher end pieces.

I'd **** my drawers if I came around a corner and saw that staring at me.

I want need one!

Ray Park can be such a badass, but he has such a soft gentle voice. It's weird!

:o Wow! That's incredible quality. Is that some kind of scan?

When I scrolled down to that third photo with the hood down and him staring straight into the camera, I literally jerked back from the screen.

And that Predator is incredible!

after watching ECW's One Night Stand on DVD I have to quote something from the show...

:o :o :oHOLY ****! :o :o :o

That is one of the best looking statues for Star Wars. If this is what they can do with Darth Maul, just imagine what they could do with Boba Fett, Darth Vader, Boushh, Luke, Han, Chewie or anyone else for that matter.
I have been told to go to hell; well at least I will know everyone there!

If I had thousands of dollars to throw around, I would love a helmetless clone, or Dooku, or even Asajj Ventress. But they're a teensy bit beyond my disposable income bracket. :'(
