I just called the 800 number. 1-800-4MYXBOX and a technician got me set up with sending it in for service.  I have to send the unit, minus the harddrive to them in a box that is not the original package.  They already e-mailed me the shipping labels and I plan on dropping it off at UPS tomorrow, or Tuesday if they are not open.  They will fix what's wrong and ship it back to me.  Unfortunately the process should take 2-3 business weeks.   >:(

It might be even easier if you have an X-box live account already.

That doesn't sound too bad...  Just a pain that it has to be done, but if I can't live without my box for 2 or 3 weeks, I need to mail it away to someone for that long regardless I suppose, heh.

Hell, I can't get time because of the kids usually anyway.  I did finally be COD4 though.  Yay me.

I'm a bit bummed about not having it for a couple of weeks...especially since Force Unleashed will be coming out soon.  But maybe I'll have it back in time.

What really irks me is I'm going to miss not playing Mass Effect for the next two weeks.  That game is the best game I have for the X-box....even if I have a limited X-Box game library.

What's the scoop on the 360 price drops? $199 for Arcade, $299 for 60GB, $399 for Elite... but is it for one week only or permanent? I can't find that info. If it's lasting through the holiday season I'm going to be posting in this thread a lot more at the end of the month.  ;)

Also do newer consoles still have the RROD or have they fixed that problem by now?

I saw a story on Fox News at their 1/2 hour headline updates and from what I gathered is it's a permanent price drop.

Yeah. I really liked the look of the old Dashboard, I'm not too excited to see it change. I wish they could have just added to it rather than starting from scratch. As it is it looks like it is a combo of the PS3 and Wii dashboards. Pretty lame looking IMO. I really hope the old themes I have downloaded still work with this one somehow. I would be so happy if they announce Assassin's Creed 2 and Mass Effect 2...

Oh yes borther! Me too. I loved that game. Surprisingly though I only played it through once, including the DLC pack. Just wasn't interested in playing it many times for all of the achievements. Had there been an online (think Halo matchmaking) part of the game, I don't think I'd be playing Halo at all now.

I received my X-box back from Microsoft today and it seems to be in good order.  All I did was hook it up and land on one planet in Mass Effect.  It's been kind of hectic around here since we brought our dog Hannah home from surgery.

Kudos to the X-box folks for a quick turnaround.

Alright, having my first un-awarded achievement issue. I reached 100% on Lego Star Wars Saga, I should have received a 100% achievement, but didn't. Can anything be done?
