i got this the other day. i have been wanting an emperor for a while, but hate the way he looks with a yellowy bubble, but didn't wanna pay alot.  i think he displays pretty good even with a smushed bubble.

I've yet to delve in the vintage carded dept - or even loose for that matter, but are there still a lot of carded vinty figures out there?  If so then why are some left unpunched.  Surely nobody knew back then that they'd be able to make a small fortune on this stuff especially if pulling straight from a case.  I do remeber getting the Emperor as a mail away and I kept loosing his damned cane as a kid and that always ticked me off.

My guess is that some were in free standing floor or shelf displays where putting them on a peg hook wouldn't be necessary, thus no punchout.

That and I think some cases maybe were found in the 80s and figs were probably sold off without pegs.  I also know of at least two people that have a fairly decent vintage carded set because they did think the figures would be worth money down the road.

Nah, no worries.  I'm too cheap to chase many of the trilogos at this time.  That said though, I was seriously tempted to drop $500 on the Yak Face that went without any bids last week.   :o  If I had that much lying in paypal I probably would have.

Part of my logic is that already have a few MOC POTF and Tri-logo figures (Yak happens to be one of them) so why not continue that trend. I love the look of the POTF cards and figure the tri's are different enough to keep me content. I knwo eventually i will regret it when i want a POTF Nikto, AT-AT Driver & Gamorrean Guard, and of course that Tri-Logo Boba Fett.  ::)
