Brian's Toys?  My opinion would be hurting the hobby, but they are running a business and trying to turn a profit, so if someone is willing to pay that, more power to them.  Not me though.

I really dig the trilogo stuff and would love to fill in holes with those figures.  But I started just before the prices went silly, so I mostly just watch for bargains these days.  My Obi-Wan and Vader carded vintage are on trilogo because I won't pay for the 12 backs.  I'd like to have everything on the first release cardback at some point but I'm not sure I'll stay motivated long enough to achieve that.  Maybe if I turf all the modern crap :-X

Good luck on the hunt for General Madine.

Vintage Tri-Logo General Madine AFA 60
:o :o :o is Brian's toys doing collectors a favor or hurting the hobby

I've said for a long time that they are really nothing more than a big scalper ring.  While vintage prices are always what the market bears, just look at what they have done with the modern line through the years pricewise...especially exclusives.

People can argue all they want about them being a business and making a profit, but when a company like New Force Comics, which appears to be a much smaller business, can sell cases for a much cheaper price, you have to wonder just how much profit someone like Brian's Toys is making.  It seems half the vintage auctions are very high priced items from Brian's Toys.

My latest is a personal best for me - a Regal Jawa.  I posted pics of him and my Jawa focus on my blog.

No tag sadly, but he squeaks.   :)  Given that this is the best specimen I've ever seen myself, I have no complaints.  Now, my last Jawa holy grail is the vinyl cape Jawa... yeah, right.

It's been a while since I've posted my new vintage acquisitions but as I continue work on my new Collection Room I felt compelled to share some pics in an effort to try to get back into discussing vintage...

Labor Day weekend I picked up upgrades for my Bespin Security Guard (black), Nien Nunb, and AT-ST Drive from the Toy Vault in Rhode Island...

Then in April, I made a nice score at a local toy shop Quake Collectibles with a MIB Speeder Bike, MIB ESB Radar Laser Cannon, an empty box for the AST-5, the Sears exclusive Imperial Cruiser w/ box, and the Rebel Transport w/ yellow box. The Imperial Cruiser and Rebel Transport are in really good condition, though they aren't exactly complete as the Cruiser is missing the head restraints (soon to be rectified thanks to Delaton) and the Transport didn't have any of the backpacks or gas masks (easily obtainable)...

And then finally two weekends ago at the Motor City Comic-con I picked up three figure variants I've looking to get for some time, Brown Snake Yoda, Orange Emblem AT-AT Driver, and Green Hair General Madine....

Cheers!

Nice additions!  I'm still trying to track down a brown snake of my own.  That Imperial Transport looks cherry - these are really great additions to your vintage stash CH!  Thanks for sharing the pics...

Wow, those are some great additions Jay!  The Snags looks very minty and nice to see the matching torso and limbs.  I Din't remember the wind up artoo from my childhood - was this a foreign release?

Nice recent additions.

Jayson - Congrats on "completing" your loose vintage collection!

Corran - I really like the Vintage set up where you're showing those new vehicles.  Great stuff!
This is the way.

I have spoken.
