I finally drummed up the motivation to finish out the Vintage Sandtrooper that I got from Ryan Shaw:

The paint is a little sloppy (particularly the arm stripes)... I had to get the arms and legs off of an old beat up stormtrooper, and I had to paint it by hand.  But it looks good from a distance.

Goes nicely with Yarna:

Ha! I have that same Sandtrooper sculpt from Ryan too Rob. Someday when I actually have a hobbie room to work in, I can enjoy getting things done like him. Nicely done.  8)

Thanks!

Did you ever buy any of the other ones from him?  I've got this Yarna, but I bought it from him several years after he did the small run of them.  So mine is the last one unless something changed (he told me the molds were shot after he finished it) and it's painted differently than the others.

I wanted to buy the Stormtrooper Han badly but he said the molds on that were shot too.  Although, I bet it'd be a pretty simple head-swap to make one on my own.

I'm still waiting around hoping he finishes the Slave Leia some day.   8)

The only other things I got from Ryan was a Han & Lucas head cast, 2 Vlix's & a Rocket Fett.

Bantha5's Vlix's Awesome!

The Vlix on the left was his first hand sculpting & the Vlix on the right is the rare cast from an original. Repro is marked on the foot & numbered.

The rocket Fett is nicely done & is the closest I will ever get to owning a real one as with Vlix.

Nice!  When he was really cranking these out I was in college and couldn't afford any of them.  A little over two years ago I emailed him about Yarna and he was nice enough to dust off the molds and make me one.  Unfortunately I missed the boat on most of it.

They are, though I have to admit I have the AT-ST driver on both that card and with the coin.  The Gam Guard is very nice, those bubbles are seldom in that good of shape with such a big figure.  I don't have that one.  Good stuff.

My POTF quest continues: I nabbed the DS Gunner in May, and Endor Luke, General Lando and Romba (all for $100!) this month.
