Dressel, you're the Commissioner, not the Supreme Dictator.  Don't you think it would be reasonable to take into account other people's concerns rather than just casting them aside?

I'll take JohnH's spot, if it's available.

:)

Yeah, you can do that if you want, but he has to actually delete his team from Yahoo before you can register there.  I may be able to do it myself.  I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: His team is deleted.  You may take the 12th spot.  Use the info on the first post of this thread to sign up over at yahoo.  Make sure you click on "Join custom league."

You draft 5th overall in the 1st round.

I understand all that Jesse.  But I can't just toss a fairly conducted draft order out the window because some people don't like the outcome.  Why didn't Scott complain about this method when he randomly received the first pick in baseball?  Was it rigged last month too when Famine got a lower pick in football?

That's why.  I made the PMs available for all to see, Kev's list was submitted an hour before Bug's, and therefore could not have been altered.  Had Bug submitted his first, then Kev picks 12 numbers, then yeah, I suppose it would have been possible for tampering to go on.  But it is not possible at all, as things turned out.

So no, I will not toss this draft order.  It's fair, random, and tamper proof.  I will not change the rules, processes, or draft order after the fact.  And that's the commissioner's job.

Not to be a dick, but the season hasn't started and I already don't like the way it's being run.  I'm going to withdraw.  I think Chris is as well because he isn't registered here and doesn't feel the need to just to take place in the draft.

John

Sorry you wanted to go.  If your friend Chris is also leaving, let me know please, there's 2 other people still wanting in on this league.  Thanks.

And the numbers Kevin gave you couldn't have been changed after the fact since you are the commish and sure would like the first pick huh?

I call foul...anyone else?

Scott, thats the exact same list I PM'd to him.

In football, when I sent the list, I wound up with first pick, but we had to re-do it because we added more teams.

Thats the exact same list I sent.

Kevin

it's not about people objecting to their position in the draft - it's about the draft order selection being more subjective than random.

I don't see what a randomized yahoo selection would hurt given the fact that we haven't started drafting yet, and almost everyone here wants something more random employeed.

It should go up to a vote.

You're going to have to explain to me how the 2 JDers online at the time, Kev and Bug, making a list of numbers, a list of teams, and both sending them to me for verification and posting is "subjective."

It's totally randomized, I had no control over it whatsoever.

There is not going to be a vote.

Did you read any of Jeff's posts?

Every one of them.  And every league that I have run, baseball, football, and this basketball league, has been done the way that I have explained:

Bug sends:

john
jane
moe

Kev sends:

3
2
1

Then the order is:

Moe
Jane
John

Baseball was done that way, and Scott got first pick.

Football was done that way, and Chris got first pick.

Now my Basketball league was done that way, and I happen to get first pick.

The draft order stands, and will not be repicked because some people don't like the outcome.

I realize some other commisioners like whoever ran the hockey league or basketball league last year had other ways of doing it, but mine is consistent, accurate, tamper proof, and totally randomized, and it will not be changed.

My leagues are always done the same, regardless of other commisioners of other leagues.

Man, you just don't get it.

If there's enough interest, I might just start my own league.  PM me if you're interested.

I don't think it's worth the time.  You've already been told on countless occasions what the issues are here.  Re-read the thread.

I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 50...

I'll guess 20.

Now, if DeanPaul feels like it, he could tell me that I'm right even though his number was 38.
