Weird thing is, Amazon.com has both sets coming out on FRIDAY, April 15th...as well as the new Unleashed set -- Vader, Sidious vs. Yoda, and that Sith Chick.  And...all with FREE SHIPPING right now.  Weird...they'll probably change the date this week but I've got them pre-ordered just to be safe.   Oh, and they're 19.99 each on amazon...

Kenobi - Would be kind of tough in that I would want Ep1, Ep2, Ep3, Ep4.  I guess they could take out one of the Prequel versions though.

They could do various stormtrooper/clonetrooper combos.  Hell ROTS alone could be multiple packs of goodness.

Guess they could do the following and not that I want them all.

Young Beru/Old Beru
Young Owen/Uncle Owen/Cliegg Lars
Padme - Ep1 - Ep3 of various outfits (would be nice)
Luke - All sorts there
R2-D2 - Could just do an astromech 3 pack?
C-3PO - Could be all C-3PO or droid 3 packs.

Eh, it's endless what they COULD do.

Frankly, I would like to see underused characters or different versions of popular ones rather than things we've seen thousands of times before.

Things like

Young Owen, Cliegg, Old Owen
Ep1 Shmi, Ep2 Beru, ANH Beru
Senator Palpy, Holo Sid, regular Sid
any number of combinations of Padme outfits
Ep2 Clone, SA ARC Trooper, Republic Commando
Ep1 security (red) battledroid, Ep1 pilot (blue) battledroid, Super Battledroid
Or even Ep1 3PO, Ep2 3PO, gold 3PO. Skeletal 3PO is underappreciated IMHO.

Do we really need a Luke Evolutions pack? He's already been released multiple times in every costume. Same for Han, Obi-Wan, etc. ::)

Well, I thought of an Obi-Wan set that could be done:

POTJ Jedi Training Obi OR Cold Weather Obi, take your pick
Clone Wars Obi in Clone Armor (a GOOD version this time)
OTC Ghost Obi-Wan.

Two would be repacks and one would be a simple kitbash (any mulleted Obi-Wan head on a clone body, with soft goods cloak.) Minimal effort required, yet really cool set. It's so simple and logical.

However, we'll probably get something like

Ep1 Jedi Duel Obi-Wan
Ep2 Coruscant Chase Obi-Wan
ANH Alec from Vader duel.  ::)

Since people tell me I never say anything positive, I just thought I'd throw my hat into the ring on what I would like to see should the Evolutions assortment continue past the first two packs (and we all know it won't, but still).  This is based on the assumption that each figure will be a brand new, VOTC-esque sculpt with no action features.

-Luke Skywalker: Stormtrooper Disguise (ANH), Bespin Duel (TESB), Endor (ROTJ)

-Palpatine: Sidious Hologram (TPM), Senate Duel (ROTS), Throne Room Duel (ROTJ)

-Threepio: No Coverings (TPM), Moisture Farm (AOTC), Full Coverings with Removable Limbs (TESB)

Other than that, I can't think of anyone who has actually "evolved" over the course of the films, appearance-wise, to justify a three pack based on the concept itself.  You could so several with just different outfits (which granted, the Luke is), but at the same time, like Valin said, do we really need/want the thousandth version of Han/Luke/Obi-Wan/Leia/Chewbacca/R2?

I can't justify spending $20 for 3 figures...maybe the troopers.

Maybe if the packaging is cool...I'm a sucker for packaging (case in point - the DVD packs, the price didn't hurt either  8)).

For the twenty dollar asking price of the Evo line, I certainly hope that they are in fact SA versions of the figures. My concern is that Hasbro just won’t have the bandwidth to put out tons of VOTC-style figures at a rate to keep this line fresh. Not while they are also doing something close to VOTC in the Collection 2 portion of the basic line.

I can see them starting off with a bang and slowly regressing the line into repack boxes of existing figures… which would be Screen Scenes Redux.

Pessimistic forecasting aside, what they are sitting on is an excellent opportunity to get “final” SA versions of characters out to market that wouldn’t perform well in the basic line on their own. By putting a winner figure (like Darth Vader) in the box with two connected but older versions of characters we could get some much needed resculpts.

It just doesn’t work for long unless they expand the definition of the set beyond single character progressions. I’d like to see them also work various groups into the line, like Jedi Masters/Padawans or Sith, things like that, that show the evolution of relationships as well. That way, they could offer up Qui-Gon figure and Darth Maul figures.

That's great news Scott, I hope they are as amazing as they sound.  Very promising from what you have reported though.  I'm hoping that we get some pics of these, clearer than what RS was able to post earlier.  So were these shown "in person" too, or just during Hasbro's slide show presentation?

These figures are impressive.  MOST impressive.  Expect some pics from a number of the various sites soon.  The Q&A was also very informative, even if JediMAC could've let some other people ask a question or two. ;)
