Computer programming for kids?
« on: May 28, 2013, 09:58 PM »
Hey.  I'm wondering if someone out there could give me some help.  My 1st grade son came home th either day and stated that he wanted to make an App.  He went on Youtube to find out how and was disappointed by the complexity.  (I wanted to make a feature film with special effects in 4th grade, I understand his pain. =)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could recommend anything for him to work on that would lead him in the right direction...I don't even know what I am asking for here.

Simple programs to write?  Games that teach design?  I have no idea, and feel really clueless.---Mike

That looks like the prefect introduction to programming for kids. I'll have to play with it.

The problem is programming needs concepts of logic and math taught at least fourth grade level but this looks like it could be a good start with some parental help.
