Log Out
Log back in..
Check the box "Always Stay Logged On"

Then you should be good. Just don't delete your cookies.

As Cory (Jango Fettish) stated, we do have a "Forever" checkbox. You can either login with the button at the top of the forum or on the main page of the forum, login at the botton. The dropdown menu at the bottom has a "Forver" choice as well. This would have to be a cookie problem with your local machine.

As stated, make sure you don't delete your cookies and make sure that they are in fact enabled. Are you able to stay logged in at other sites? Thanks

Problems logging into JD...
« Reply #3 on: December 11, 2005, 11:11 PM »
Forum member Fritzkrieg contacted me and send this message -

I can't log on or even view the JD Forums.  Did I get banned or something. Or is there some type of viewer I need to download. I never had any problems before.  I was hoping maybe you could help me out here.

Can anyone help me try to help him?

Thanks!

Hmmm, no...  We talk all that stuff over, so I'd know if something had come up but I think everyone digs having Fritz over.  Probably wishes we saw more of him actually. :)

I'll check and see what's up, but I'm sure someone a little more in-the-know than I will know how to check into this faster.  I'm pretty slow at this stuff yet, haha.

Tell Fritz if you're talking to him though that we'll look into it and hopefully he'll be back in here soon if this is just a glitch on our end of some kind.  We've not been having any problems around here lately though with anyone so Fritz didn't do anything. :)

Judging by our forum logs, it looks like he just might not remember his password...  No idea what's up if that's not the case.  But definitely no banning here, that's for sure.

For some reason I can only view the JD forums from my work Comp. Is there some sort of program or patch that I need to download to view these forums?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Fritzkrieg

No idea what the problem is really, as we've already been brainstorming over this issue behind the scenes and haven't come up with anything.  Sorry Fritz.

Have you tried clearing your Cookies at home?  No idea if that might help, but I just don't know what else to suggest, especially now that it doesn't appear to be a password problem, as we'd suspected...  :-\

Perhaps your password is saved on the work computer and not at home, and when you attempt to type your password at home you are typing it incorrectly or have the wrong one? That is all I can think of since this is not a problem on our end.

I don't even get the option to put in my pass word. I can view the JD main page but when I click on the Forums I get nothing but a white screen. Is it possibly linked to my Anti Spywear program?

Any third party programs you have could be doing this, or you may have spyware/adware or a virus on your machine tainting your browser.

I think deleting your cookies is a good place to start Fritz.  Chris knows his stuff, so there's sound advice.  Seems very odd to not even get a log-in screen or anything.

I deleted all my cookies and temp files, It's Still not working. I'm still only able to get on the JD forums at work. I hope I can figure out something since I'm not allowed to use this Comp. for personal use.

Is it possible that a driver is needed to use a "Simple Machines Forum"?

Help me Obi-wan Kenobi your my only hope,

Very strange, I doubt you'd need a specific driver to log on here.  Were you able to log on at home in the past?
