I just bought The Thorns CD the other day.  It's a collaboration of Matthew Sweet, Shawn Mullins, and Pete Droge.  It's good stuff, and the harmornies are great!

I've bought some cd's too recently, actually purchased  them over the counter and everything!  :) Its strange not seeing songs as files.

Last one was Hail to the Thief.  I'll come back to it later, even though I still think Kid A was a better one for this 'era' of Radiohead's music.  (Course "The Bends" is still the best.

I got a Love two cd set recently which is amazing. That band was all over the map.  I found some used Grateful Dead stuff too, some of there early studio albums I had never listened to.  "Anthem of the Sun" is good. I know buying their studio stuff is an affront to every bootleg loving Deadhead everywhere, because its not as real, man.  I like it though.  And I used to dismiss this band all the time.

I bought the ROTS Soundtrack for $11 at Target on its release - I've been looking for the Sin City Soundtrack for a week now, and for whatever reason it's not at any of our Wal-Marts, or Target or Circuit City. I don't get it - why can't I find this damn thing?  ??? I did find it at Barnes and Nobles but it was marked up to near $20.

Damn, talk about bumping an old thread  :P

Last CD I bought was a few weeks back... NIN:With Teeth

Sometimes, I'm fine with just getting the music, but with certain bands I need to see the packaging and feel it in my grubby little hands. NIN is one such band.

Is it possible for vinyl to sound better than a CD?  I think it must be, though I remember how excited I was when I got my first CD player back in the day.

I picked up Deep Purple Machine Head the other day, only because it's the only disc I know of that has Lazy on it (sorry, it's a flashback tune for me and I love it - the best song on the disc) and it sounds like **** :-\  It's all muddled and thick, even at volume.  I'm happy to own it, but after playing it I was wondering why it hadn't been remastered.  I was also left wondering if vinyl used to sound worse than this :o
