I wonder though, how many people buy the Federation stuff to have the variations, and how many are buying because they never got them the first time around?

Me (raises hand) I just started the week of Thanksgiving and I need some Confederacy heavy armor.

I can live without the black fighter though.

While I think rereleasing the Hailfire Droid and the AAT are excellent ideas, this Vader Starfighter doesn't seem like such a sound move at this point in time.  Hasbro goes on and on about "competing for shelf space" yet two of the five vehicles that are in this mid-sized assortment are both going to say "Darth Vader's (something) Starfighter" on the box.  Not to mention the fact that the shelves are already going to have an Anakin Starfighter (Yellow) and a Mace Starfighter (Purple) alongside the black Vader Starfighter, and it's just confusing for the general public Hasbro claims they do this for to the nth degree.

The thing that I find fairly amusing about this getting made is that in the "Dark Lord" book, Vader's thoughts are about how uncomfortable the fighter is and how he wants his experimental design from Sienar ASAP so he can get out of that ETA model.  Leave it to Hasbro to make a "stop-gap" vehicle from the EU.  ;D

If they wanted to get some variety to this line of mid-sized vehicles, why not make the Anakin JSF the green/white TRU version (sans figure), include the AAT and Hailfire Droid as is, and then throw the AT-ST or Snowspeeder out as mass market items alongside them?  I have no problem with the Vader TIE, as it is a nice ship, but three JSFs on the shelves at open retail at one time?

More ammunition for Hasbro's "vehicles don't sell" argument I guess.  The only thing that could make this more "trainwreck" worthy would be if they included the Cruisemissle Trooper in the assortments.

I dunno, the Saga Collection is going to have a lot of Jedi Starfighters on the shelves at once. Anakins, Obi Wans, Mace's, and Vader's. I'm going to try and get both of Vader's ships, since I've never gotten an earlier versin of
Vader's TIE, and I like the Jedi Starfighters. As for the droid tanks, I'll pick them up, since I'd like to have duplicates of them. The AAT seems kind of useless, since there are no battle droids coming out to pilot it. As for someone mentioning re-releaseing the green Anakin Jedi Starfighter, I think the blue Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter would be better, since it could be labeled as Aayla Securas Jedi Starfighter. (She flew one with the same color scheme in the Obsessions comics, and then later lent it to Obi Wan.)

I never saw these two in the Clone Wars line, so hopefully, I'll be able to pick them up this time. 8)

I find that amusing as well, Doc. You know Hasbro must be saying 'well, he flew this one time and THEN said he didn't like the model after he exited the craft'  ::)

Imperial TIE Fighter (White Death Star Squadron Deco)

I'm assuming that would be with the vintage wings and not the new ****-hot correct ones.  :-\

So this TIE will be accurately painted I assume? And I suppose Tinn's fighter will be another E3 Jedi Fighter repaint.

I hope it's a grey deco NEW winged TIE Fighter...  If the Vader's TIE was that, I'd buy it as well.  They were grey, not blue-grey, so I've been a little bummed they haven't done ANH decoes.  Hope they do soon....  And not the old midget sculpt wings on the TIE either, blah.

My thoughts

1. AAT-Love this vehicle, but I don't have one.

2. Hailfire Tank-This is a good vehicle wait for the clearance section.

3. Darth Vader's Starfighter-that would be awesome, maybe a sneak preview of the SW TV show.

4. White Tie Fighter-I want this one bad. hope its the large wings version

5. Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter-Don't care (its probably the CW Season One )

The proper scaled Tie in the $20 line? Right where it should have been in the first place.

No doubt...  Hopefully they blew their "cheapness" load on it the first time, and that a wide-release one to all retailers would make it at the $20 pricepoint.  I'm not counting on that though unfortunately.  To me it'll be actually insulting to see a squat-winged TIE on shelves, which is what I wholely expect to see.   ::)
