Yeah, I don't even think the larger scaled wings fit in a Mid-sized vehicle box.

They won't unless they are retooled to be collapsable or to come apart at the midline (lengthwise) :(

I'm trying to think, but did Vader's TIE fit in that sort of standard box for the $20-ish pricepoint?  I'm thinking the POTF2 one did, but the OTC one was a different box as I recall I guess...

But yeah I'm wholely expecting the squat-winged fighter, not the right one.  Disappointing.

The Vader Tie was definately in a box roughtly the same size as the mid ship, if not the same. What else shipped with it? The Outrider and T-16?

The T-16 definitely and I'm almost positive the red A-wing did also.  Not too sure on the Outrider but it's possible.

The "original" mid-sized vehicles that shipped in the same sized boxes were:

TIE Fighter
T-16
A-Wing (this was the only box with a window in it as is came with a figure)
Vader's TIE

The Outrider's box was slightly larger and shipped by itself during the "Shadows Of The Empire" campaign. It re-shipped in a green box that was the same size as the original purple one and also shipped by itself for a brief time after the "Special Editions" were released.

Our of curiosity I compared the Naboo fighter can fit inside the mid size box too. I just bought it at a flea market last week brand new for $20. One of the only ships I passed on. Not bad, a EP2 worn deco may look cool for a rehash.

Has anyone opened up the new repackaged Saga2 Obi starfighter?

I am wondering if they improved the paint job to a better red. The ROTS one is a little too dark compared to the film.

Some updates from EE - looks like both the Hailfire Droid and AAT have spiffy new paintjobs!

Star Wars Trade Federation AAT Vehicle

They also have the Star Wars Darth Vader's Sith Starfighter Vehicle listed, but no pictures yet...

Nice paint jobs. To me, it's a good justification for pruchasing them again if you're into detail.

I will definitely be replacing my 4 AAT's with this new one and get 2 of the Hail Fires.

Some of the best paint jobs I've seen from Hasbro, about dang time!

I'm absolutely on board for the Hailfire, since I don't have the previous release and it's one of my favorite PT vehicles.

Undecided on the AAT--I have the earlier version (thanks Scott!) but this has new paint and the CIS insignia....

I'm half tempted to pick these up as well, we'll see.  I don't have the earlier versions of either, but at the same time I don't have a lot of display space left for vehicles - and the OT ships I have take precedence - so with the AT-AT, and possibly a Snowspeeder coming later this year, space might be at a premium.

Anyways, looking at these, I might pick up the AAT, that looks pretty nice and I kind of like that ship.  We'll see about the Hailfire Droid.  I do like the Vader Starfighter, and I hope to pick that one up.  I'm just a fan of that starfighter design in general, that's a pretty nice ship.

I think for the first time I'm going to say to hell with it and pass on a repainted vehicle... my rule has always been that if the repaint makes it into a potentially different vehicle or troop that I'd buy it - but I'm sick of it.  I've got 3 different EII Jedi Star Fighters, 4 different E3 Jedi Star Fighters (with two more on the way...), 3 Different X-Wings, 3 Different (with a fourth on the way) Republic Gunships and now a third different Tank with a second different Hailfire Droid.

I'm officially done buying these.  If Hasbro wants to sell me a vehicle, make me a ******* reissued cloud car, or spend the money to sculpt a Sith Infiltrator or a Sail Barge or ANYTHING new.

I'm done.
