Lightsaber cases?

For the jedi of the old republic did they all have a series of lightsaber cases to pick from?
Or a series of designs?

Look closely at Greivous' lightsabers during the battle on utapau, a couple look exactly alike to that of Obi-Wans in episode 3-4.
Same with some that look like anakins.

I think it was probably more a situation where the "artists" or "animators" or whatever they're called didn't feel like going to the trouble of creating all-new designs for lightsaber hilts that would be barely-visible on screen for a second or two, so they just stuck some already-created hilts in there.

But I'm sure there's another answer for it somewhere in the Exhausted Universe.
