Not too happy that I pulled another Palpatine...ugh ::)

Why you no good threadcrapper!  ;)

Feeling kinda horny for these guys again now, I decided to march back into the store, and take another stab at it while on was on a roll, and since there were another 10 or so sets I hadn't weighed yet.

That's the second time you've described yourself as horny for these.  It's a little scary.  :-*

You're having awesome luck. How many boosters total for you? I've done six total and only found 2 VR's. Can't wait to see what you total list is after today.

No package has arrived here. I want my starter set and booster case.  >:(

Sorry, back to lurking.  I am curious though if you buy a booster case if you are guaranteed a good range of assortment (like Kubricks where you get a full set of regulars a variant and maybe a chase) or they are totally random

Patty just called and said UPS just delivered my case of Boosters, and Starter set.  So that assures me at least 2 new figures out of 94...  Excellent!   :P  There better at least be some freakin' Jawas and a Gamorrean or two in there, 'cause those were two of my top wants from the Commons and Uncommons, and I still ain't got none!   >:(

Also a little bummed, 'cause apparently this local gaming shop was giving out the checklist posters of all the figures - for free last week!   :-\  He said he'd hang on to one for me if he gets any more in.  They're definitely pretty cool!

They're randomly packed Scott, and the breakdown in each Booster pack is like this (see my checklist above for who's in which group):

4 Commons
2 Uncommons
1 Rare or Very Rare

All 7 will be unique though, within each Booster, and will give you exactly 11.66% of a complete set.   ;)

But after you're through your first 6 - 10 Booster packs, you've probably nabbed most/all of the Commons and Uncommons (16 of each), so then you're really just chasing after the Rares and Very Rares, knowing that you'll be getting a ****load of duplicates with the rest of them at that point.

EDIT:  Whoops, you said Booster CASE, not pack.  Well, from all the breakdowns I've seen of people's cases, you're gonna wind up with most, if not ALL of the Commons and Uncommons (16 of each) along with several duplicates of many of them, and for the most part, the cases seem to do really, really well as far as not having any duplicates of the 12 Rare/Very Rare figures.  So I'd say you're gonna do pretty well altogether if you buy a Booster case.  You'd still be 14 Rares/Very Rares short of complete though (with no dups), plus you'd need a Starter set too, to nab the exclusive Luke and Vader in there...

... and my case did show up today, in the end. Your ratio seems to jive, Matt. There were 4 Very Rare and 8 Rare in the booster case, so one VR or R per pack.

11 to go for me... all R and VR.  :'(

So how do you guys plan on displaying these? I'm trying to come up with a way to display all 60 in a small area (not that I have all 60 or anything  :- )... shouldn't be too hard to do. I'm thinking about building a small stair-like display case out of foam core board and painting it black, similar to the ones I built for my stormtroopers before my army got out of hand.

I'm aiming to display them on a wall in a windowbox, placing the playing cards, stats side showing, with the figure in front of it. I figure it will use a recessed foamcore backing with slots for the figures. Here's a test on the floor:

Tiny, but I think you can see the idea. It's similar to this thing we did last year:

I have to work out the layout but that's the basic idea at the moment. My only problem is the figures get a bit lost in the card. Whatcha think?

Finally got my case + 4 after only 10 days of cross-country travel.  ::)

This line is bittersweet. Nice detail and paint job; gonna be a bitch to polish off the missing 12 rare/very rare.  :'(

Time to hit the shops and test the midichlorian count.  :P

I need one of your R2s Jared!  Didn't even put that on my list (though you'll see he's not crossed off above), since I figured we could work something out for one of your three...   ;)

Let's discuss!

Now THIS and THIS should be very interesting to keep an eye on...  Complete sets of all 60 figures, currently at $280 and $255, with 2 and 4 days to go respectively.  Damn!  :o

They ended at $335 and $383 respectively.  Yikes!   :o

Plus, this complete set that got BIN'ed for "only" $300.

For all 60 of them, that's more than the average Hasbro figure each, for about 1/10 of the amount of plastic...

Wow, but on the flip side, the individual figures on eBay have come down a LOT in the last week or so since I last checked.  Much more affordable to pick and choose your missing rares and VRs now, if need be.

A lot of rares for $4-7, VRs for $10-15.  I missed this Probe Droid for only $11.   :-\

I'll see what I can trade first, and then wander over there to see what's up.

Now if WOTC would just let me log in to their damned forums, I'd be in much better shape!   >:(

Since I'm getting ready to dive into the trading arena to hopefully fill out the rest of my set at this point, without spending much/any more, I've been browsing the WOTC forums to see if there's any general guidelines as to what's a typical/fair trade on these figures.  This seems to be the general prevailing guideline for most gamer's trading apparently:

1 VR = 2 Rare
1 Rare = 2 Uncommons
1 Uncommon = 2 Commons

I'd likely go a bit higher than those guidelines in some of my trading though, but at least it gives us all a frame of reference to work with...

Just completed a trade, so I thought I'd show off update where I was at:

Common figures:
  8  Hoth Trooper
35  Snowtrooper
36  Stormtrooper
37  Stormtrooper
38  Stormtrooper
45  Ewok
51  Jawa
57  Tusken Raider
59  Twi'lek Scoundrel

Uncommon figures:
16  Rebel Officer
23  Elite Snowtrooper
24  Elite Stormtrooper
32  Royal Guard - w/bent force pike
33  Scout Trooper
39  Stormtrooper Officer

Pretty good for only buying one booster pack so far.  ;)

I have ordered a few more on-line and they should be here by the end of the week.  I've decided that I don't really need a complete set of these, just going to focus on Imp Troops and my favorite Characters and try to skip the EU stuff.

I'll probably end up trading off most of my Rares and VRs for Imp troops/Han/Chewie so you guys might benefit from my boosters as much as I do ;)
