Edit- Been playing online and man do I suck, I managed like 10 kills to 18 deaths.
10-18 is a pretty decent ratio, believe it or not. What really matters is if you help your team win. I like playing Domination because you earn about 200 EXP points if per match if you win, and a good 80 or so at least if you lose. There are a couple of maps where I will just squat over a single objective and play defense. I might make 5 kills the entire match, but if I prevent the other team from securing our bridge (or whatever) I've done better than what I could probably do on the attack. EXP points give you rank, the more rank you get, the better perks and weapons you'll have.
Whats the marksmen challenge so I can unlock red dot sights and such?
Marksman challenges are listed in the Barracks>Challenges>Weapon Type>Specific Weapon. Typically it's 25 kills with whatever weapon you want the red dot for. You will eventually also unlock a silencer and scope, as well. I believe scopes require 25 head shots. What I'm looking forward to unlocking is the "Overkill" perk which allows you to carry a second primary weapon in the place of your service pistol. (just don't equip two weapons that use the same ammo!)
Just a bit of advice in case you didn't already know this... Red dots are great and don't change your weapon's abilities, but the scopes actually reduce accuracy while improving range. Silencers make you invisible on the radar, but you lose range and accuracy. Keep that in mind when you customize your weapon. If you normally engage the enemy at mid-to-long range, the silencer may not give away your position but your repeated misses will.
