Walmart Black Friday:  Playstation 3 Console w/Infamous & Batman Arkham Asylum Games + Dark Knight Blu-ray - $299

That's just a FANTASTIC deal.

I finished earning the platinum trophy in Uncharted 2 and have been playing Braid the past week.  Braid is really compelling.  You really need to bend your mind to get through it.  I've beaten worlds 2 through 5 and have one puzzle piece left to get in 6.  Funny thing... I'll play at these tough pieces for like half an hour, give up and turn it off, then just keep thinking about the solution in the back of my head until the solution pops into it.  It's rare that a game stays on my mind like that.

I think that about does it for me...Unless anybody can tell me four or more reasons Bill's totally full of ****, I think I'm finally in.

Whatever you do, don't play Uncharted 2 first.  It'll ruin you to everything else out there.   ;)

Slims play PS1 games, not PS2 games.

Huh.  That's dumb.  But I'll still probably get one.

It was a cost reduction move.  In order to play PS2 games it needed the PS2 graphic processor built-in.  There are rumors that they're working on a software solution, but Sony keeps denying them.

At 34, I want that Batman game, but I honestly think I've finally outgrown video games (I'm just waiting until this stupid action figure habit goes away), but my kids love the Final Fantasy and Lego video games, so another game system (other than the Wii) makes a little sense.  I'm just ready to dive into Blu-Ray now that the HD-DVD/Blu Ray war is over, and it makes sense to kill two birds with one sub-$300 stone.

I don't want to have to re-buy the Lego games, and I don't want to bother hooking up the PS2.  So damn Sony to hell.  Here's hoping for a software fix.

I just got my ps3 via a redemption programm over here with the lcd bravia tv
I just watched starwars and empire and spank my ass and call me chearlie if they werent the clearest things I have seen ever, they upscale so well I cant wait for the official release of those movies, this weekend its the indy series to see how they upscale and then to the shops to score some bluray flicks
The problem with America is stupidity I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself

Sony lost me with their inability to ensure true backwards compatability.

So um, forgive my undoubtedly childlike question here, but I was wondering if two people can log on to the PSN on one console. You see, I have an account and always automically log on when I turn on the PS3. But my g/f likes to play along with some Tekken and LBP every now and then and I was wondering if I made her an account as well, she could log on at the same time?

You can set up multiple profiles in the same console.

Or not.  I drove by Wal-Mart this morning, and it was an absolute circus (and well after the opening rush, so they were probably cleaned out anyway).  I'll still probably pick one up somewhere down the line, but nothing is worth going anywhere near a Wal-Mart today.
