Man, I was browsing the pictures, and it is almost looking at concept art figures. These are all excellent reimaginings of the characters, and represent them all faithfully, while still being something totally your own! Congratulations, I just peed myself!

Phenomenal work! I still can't get over the helmets, and the clothing... It's like you bought them off  a shelf  in Walmart and tried them on first. Best fitting clothes I've ever seen.

Jeditaz and Manglord-

Thanks for commenting.  I guess I derive the most pleasure from translating my favorite elements from the films into something slightly askew.

Next up...Snowspeeder!

This was a complex project, primarily because the Snowspeeder is a much more complex design than the previous vehicles that I've made.  I started with a rectangular box for the c0ckpit, and then built the rest of structure from there.

Work in Progress

Basic construction (assembled, puttied, and sanded):

Panels and detailing (thin styrene and odds and ends):

Primed!:

Now, I had my concept Luke figure, but I needed another pilot.  So, I took this as an opportunity to make another alien...in this case, a Mon Calamari!

The head is sculpted from Apoxie Sculpt, with some wire whiskers added for effect.  The base figure is a Gondorian soldier from Lord of the Rings, and the hands are from a Stan Winston Studios monster figure.  The outfit is fabric and leather, and the flak vest bric-a-brac is from the fodder bin.

The Final Snowspeeder

The snowspeeder was hand painted with acrylics, and the weathering and battle damage was achieved with both washes and drybrushing.

Open c0ckpit:

Panel detail:

Top:

Bottom:

The crew:

Thanks for looking!

I like it! ;D

The Mon Calamari is very different from what I'm use to seeing. I like the use of the big webbed hands for him and the cloth on the body. That snowspeeder is wonderful. Are you going to add landing gear? The underside seems incomplete without it.

What would you call this kind of Flash Gordonesk style. It's not accurate to the toys but the movies never matched Mcquary's work either. Hints of bronze mixed with a nostalgic style.  Kind of like VanHelsing/Wild Wild West (the movies) mixed with Star Wars. Am i making any sense??

Great stuff Glorbes.

I like your take on the SW universe - kind of like a dark, industrial view.

Very cool stuff - especially R2 and the stormie.

These are just incredible! You have really completely re-imagined all these characters and vehicles and made them your own. Everything has a "what if Star Wars was done in the 1940's" feel to it.

Just beautiful work.

I have to say that I became a member here a while ago, but I stopped coming back because I thought that the customs here were just being repeated on the RS boards. I am so glad that I decided to check in.

Thanks for sharing this brilliant work.
