Not hard to see why she's an ex then  ;)  The sarlacc really does have that "not so fresh" vibe about it.

I think we are a little off the subject. What's the status on our Hutt?

Well, thanks for getting us back on track.  She has a little more greenstuff around her face.  I need to get some more at Gameworkshop so that I can finish the molding.  I'll try to post another WIP photo pretty soon.  However, we are going out of town this weekend so I don't think I'm going to have a lot of time to work on my customs.

Okay, here is minor update on Gardulla.   I think I've finished the sculpting add ons with the greenstuff.  Once it sets overnight then I can start painting her.  I thinking about busting out my new airbrush on this to make initial paint applications smoother.

With all that greenstuff around her eyes, nose, and mouth, she kind of looks like one of the things that I've doodle on  ;D

Hey Brent, I've been meaning to ask -- how is this Greenstuff stuff to work with?  Does it cure with heat, like Sculpey, or does it cure in the air?  I'm on the lookout for new sculpting media (Sculpey can be darn frustrating with some of the really, really tiny stuff) and would love to hear your thoughts on this stuff.  Thanks! :)

Brent I hope you don't mind me jacking this page again.

Finds the Greenstuff by citadel is a modeling epoxy, it is a 2 part compound blue and yellow which make green (I think this is a chemicle reaction to each other making it harder.). This stuff drys with in 5 hours and is totally cured in 24 with an incredible strong shore hardness making it perfect for add ons.

It does look like a doodle pad picture. I would definately airbrush the entire thing. It will make the skin blend better. I did notice that one of her boobs is bigger than the other.

Now worries Smarty... my add on for greenstuff.

It is extremely STICKY to work with.  You have to keep you figures and tools wet to be able to keep this from sticking to your hands.  Its also exceptionally difficult to remove (or prevent) fingerprints.

However, I've stopped using sculpy when I need to add something on to a piece "permenantly"  I'll still use sculpy if I'm going to a make a mold of it but if its a permenant addition I'm going with greenstuff.

I also use greenstuff to bond some pieces together.  For example, in my Diva figure, I've used greenstuff to creat the next and bond together with a ball joint for the head.  I also used greenstuff to bond the Orn Free Ta head on the body.

The other downside to greenstuff is the cost.  Its about $10 at Gamesworkshop.  You don't get very much (but it goes a long way if you are only using small parts).  You can get a lot more sculpy for the same money.

I also asked some questions about greenstuff a few months ago - [http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=11442.0] Here's a Link[/url]

I kind of did that on purpose.  The Hutts never seem to be too symmetrica - just look at their nostrils.

Worked on some airbrushing tonight.  Here is the latest WIP for Gardulla.  As you know, color's aren't my best thing so if they are way off please let me know.  I tried to mix up some dark brown with white to form a brownish tan for the back side.  I added some yellow to this mixture for the front portions.   Some of the paint was still wet when I took the photos (hence the reflections).  The airbrushing wasn't as straightforward as I was hoping (what is??).  I may go it with a regular brush from here on out.

Looks like you are making good progress.

The greenstuff sculpting will blend in nicely once painted, but that color reminds me of baby food.  Should be cool to see when it's all finished up as it's shaping up to be one good looking ugly Hutt.   :)
